Staff Accountant

StaffBuffalo is partnering with a
well-established home care agency to hire a Staff Accountant for their
growing team. This is an in-office position with some flexibility for
personal commitments. The Staff Accountant will work directly with the
CFO and play a critical role in managing financial records,
reconciling accounts, and supporting financial reporting. You’ll also
collaborate closely with the Billing Manager and Payroll Manager,
ensuring smooth financial operations.
This is an onsite
position in Buffalo, NY.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and post transactions
in QuickBooks (QuickBooks experience is a must).
- Reconcile
bank statements, credit card accounts, and financial reports to ensure
accuracy.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and
reporting variances to management.
- Process accounts payable
and receivable transactions efficiently.
- Monitor cash flow
and support financial analysis.
- Assist in payroll processing
and ensure payroll accounts are reconciled.
- Ensure
compliance with tax filings, grant reporting, and financial
regulations.
- Work closely with the CFO, Billing Manager, and
Payroll Manager to optimize financial processes.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of
bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in healthcare,
non-profit, or service-based industries.
- Associate’s or
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- QuickBooks experience is required. Strong proficiency in
Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to review
financial statements, identify trends, and provide insights.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills,
and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a small
team.
- Familiarity with GAAP principles, financial reporting,
and compliance regulations is a plus.
