Staff Accountant

Buffalo, NY, to hire a dedicated Staff Accountant with a
salary range of $55,000 – $0,000 per year, depending on
experience.

nonprofit accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s

This is an
on-site, full-time position in the Buffalo area.
Responsibilities:
- Review and
analyze accounts payable and receivable to verify accuracy and
compliance.
- Record financial transactions and accruals in
accounting software, ensuring financial integrity.
- Reconcile
the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are
properly posted.
- Collaborate with program managers to
enhance efficiency in purchasing and inventory control.
- Assist with month-end closings, including the preparation and
reconciliation of financial statements.
- Support the
preparation of financial documentation, identifying areas for improved
efficiency.
- Demonstrate knowledge of accounting practices
specific to the nonprofit sector, including grant accounting.
- Maintain compliance with nonprofit regulations and financial
reporting standards.
- Represent the organization
professionally when interacting with vendors, program managers, and
internal staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field strongly
preferred.
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience,
including reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Experience
with ERP software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word,
Excel, Outlook, Teams/Zoom).
- Previous experience in
nonprofit accounting and grant management is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the
ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and
communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
