For over two decades, APP has been developing and manufacturing complex net-shape components using metal injection molding (MIM) and 3D metal printing technologies for the firearms, medical, industrial and defense industries. Our proprietary technologies, ProtoMIM® and PrintalloyÒ position APP as the first choice for some of the largest Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) in the country. We design, engineer and produce metal components that improve the performance of our clients' medical devices, hand tools, firearms, and sporting goods. Job Summary:The Business Development Manager is responsible for obtaining new business from current and prospective customers to meet APP's growth objectives by providing MIM and Metal 3D Printing solutions to OEM markets. They create awareness and understanding of APP's capabilities and competitive advantages, solve complex problems, represent APP's core values, and provide-world class service to the customer. As a liaison between the client and manufacturing, the Business Development Manager must ensure the clients' needs are consistently exceeded. Job Characteristics:As a goal-oriented position, the individual must drive growth of profitable sales through APP's core technologies, proven process and customer focused approachPossess the aptitude to convey technical and mechanical concepts to all audiencesDevelop and maintain a thorough knowledge of APP technologies and price structureThe successful candidate is expected to lead idea generation, innovative and creative problem solving for clients Proven ability to build successful client relationships that result in ongoing salesJob Responsibilities:Working with the Director of Business Development, develop complex sales strategies for growing profitable sales to existing customersIdentify, prospect, scope, and qualify new leads and potential new customers and create strategies for building relationships that results in profitable salesPrepare annual territory and market action plansAssess market trends and competitiveness issues and opportunities, adjusting strategies and initiatives where appropriateCollaborate with application engineers to build cost estimatesTravel to current and prospective accounts to better understand client needs and identify solutions to enhance customer experienceDevelop complex and individual sales approaches for each clientPrepare/present quotes and proposals to clients according to their business model and timelinesMaintain meaningful relationships with clients to establish and ensure customer satisfaction Responsible for logging and updating all activity into SalesforceInvest in APP vision and core values and champion them as we growFollow the standards of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 International StandardsQualificationsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering is highly preferred; however, a degree in business, marketing, or related discipline will be considered if combined with industry experience5 years of technical sales experience to OEM marketsStrong mechanical and technical aptitude - print reading, tool design, design for manufacturingStrong communication an organizational skills are a mustExperience with customer management software such as SalesforceProficient with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint and OutlookAbility to generate revenue by identifying pain points and suggesting suitable solutionsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProper business etiquette and ability to remain professional in challenging situationsPreferably an extrovert, the individual must be a goal-oriented, influential and collaborative self-starterDemonstrated ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly Must be able to manage travel schedule, drive/fly for overnight travel as required, and have a valid driver's licenseWillingness to travel approximately 50% of the timePlease include personal e-mail when applying.Advanced Powder Products provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
