City Planner

Create plans that outline the most efficient use of land and geographic resources in metropolitan settings.

Responsibilities:
Designing and constructing new urban infrastructures.
Helping to manage a city’s current infrastructure and urban resources.
Creating and modifying municipal plans to accommodate population growth and development.
Keeping residents up to date on city planning developments.
Recommending the best location for various urban amenities such as schools and roadways.
Assisting in the creation of land use and development legislation.
Make certain that the environment is safeguarded throughout the planning and development process.
Creating and enforcing zoning restrictions for private properties in metropolitan settings.

Requirements:
Master’s degree desired in urban or regional planning, environmental planning, urban design, or a related discipline.
Previous professional experience as a city planner.
The American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is preferred.
Preferable if you are a member of the American Planning Association (APA).
Excellent project management abilities.
Analytical abilities to the max.
Communication and interpersonal skills that are second to none.
Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign are familiar to you.
