We are looking for a mechanical engineering intern to assist
in developing the next generation of industrial tools and solutions.
This is a unique opportunity for a motivated mechanical engineering
student to become an integral team member of new product
development.
What will you be doing?

Assist in the design of mechanical and hydraulics systems to ensure
they meet VOC/VOB/Development specifications.
- Support
Product Management and Design & Innovation team on customer visits to
collect voice-of-customer (VOC) and marketing requests
-
Participate in Design Reviews, DFMEA, SFMEA of controls, Risk
Analysis, DVP&R.
- Quickly design, build, and test prototypes
to prove technical feasibility and robustness of designs

Develop, author, and analyze test request to verify and validate
designs will meet performance and durability requirements

Assist in Advanced Engineering Technology development for future NPD
projects.
- Collaborate with global teams on creative problem
solving to gain insights from subject matter experts
- Assist
in the creating of technical drawings for prototype parts.
What skills and competencies do you need?
- Full-time student enrolled in a college or university
program for mechanical engineering
- Strong problem-solving
skills to be applied to a variety of situations
- Strong
analytical and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate
and work with a team
Skills that will make you
stand out:
- Experience with 3D Cad modeling in
Creo
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and/or
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools
- Experience
designing fluid power components
- Experience with designing
or integrating connected systems (IoT)
- Electronics,
mechanical, and hydraulic Engineering experience
- Battery
powered product development
- Proven track record of
innovative product development
Physical
Demands
Employee may have to lift documents/work
materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to
walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling
by auto to potentially remote sites. Employee will need to listen,
understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and
electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with
supported organizations. Employee can work in front of a personal
computer for extended periods of time.
Work Environment
Primary work environment is in a temperature-controlled
office setting but may also be visiting different manufacturing
facilities where following appropriate safety protocols at the
location would be required.
