Your Job Georgia Pacific Consumer Products
Division is seeking qualified professionals for a Mechanical Project
Engineering Manager role on our Green Bay Operations team. Your
position will focus on leading a very capable team of mechanical
project engineers, designers and a facilities team. Your role will be
recruiting, retention and development of that team, workload
assignment, problem solving and potentially executing projects
yourself. You will also have opportunities to solve complex problems
to support our customers in operations.

Our Team
The Green Bay Operations
Engineering team is dedicated to the success of all projects. We also
support the mill to drive excellence in our operational performance.
There are four main engineering groups (electrical, mechanical,
process, and reliability) that are in the same office area which
promotes team collaboration between all groups. We have a team-based
project approach that allows our teams to take on a wide variety of
complex projects. We are located in Green Bay Wisconsin at the
Broadway facility - this is a local role, and remote work is not
routine.
What You Will Do
- Ensure
compliance with environmental, safety, and business regulations.
- Assist project teams in developing and managing projects using
Georgia-Pacific Work Processes.
- Development of the team
members you'll be supervising, both personally and professionally.
- Recruit and retain talented engineers, including a co-op and
internship program.
- Management and resourcing of an evolving
project plan, both capital and expense work.
- Partnership
with electrical engineering, process controls, process and reliability
teams to develop full staffing plans to successfully execute project
work.
- Resource with contracted engineering firms when
necessary.
- Design, modify, and evaluate mechanical
components and systems for mill equipment/projects.
- Provide
engineering services to scope, estimate, design, and execute projects
for improved safety, quality, cost, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and reliability teams to
implement process improvements.
- Analyze and interpret data.
- Communicate results to employees and management.
- Apply economic thinking when evaluating alternatives, equipment,
vendors, and contractors.
- Potential to grow into a Project
Gatekeeping role based on capability demonstrated.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) - Bachelor's degree in engineering or in lieu of a degree,
have proven industry experience in engineering in a manufacturing
setting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering or
similar role in a manufacturing setting.
