Job Summary
The Basketball Instructor/Official is responsible for enhancing the i9 Sports Experience for players and coaches. The Basketball Instructor/Official will need to build relationships with players, parents, and coaches while making sure that the instructional aspects of the i9 Sports Experience are delivered. Observing, assessing, and assisting our coaches is paramount. The position entails hands-on involvement with practices and games among all age groups and skill levels.

SuperMe Performance is currently seeking an experienced and passionate basketball coach for the upcoming Winter season. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong basketball background who's ready to lead, inspire, and develop young athletes within an NYC school team. We're specifically looking for candidates who have either played at the collegiate level or bring several years of coaching experience at the high school level or higher.
The season begins in early November and runs through to mid February, with vacation time during the holidays. This contract position offers a competitive hourly rate of $30–$0/hour. Meets are held mostly in Manhattan, and practices take place 4-5 days per week, typically after school.
We're looking for a coach who:
- Brings energy, enthusiasm, and a deep love for the game
- Demonstrates strong leadership, teaching, and communication skills
- Can design and help lead structured practices, implement strategy, and foster a competitive team culture
- Maintains team stats and travels to/from practices and meets with the athletes
Requirements:
- Extensive basketball background: collegiate playing experience or multiple years of high school basketball / private coaching would serve you well
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or willingness to complete prior to the season—we can help facilitate this)
- A commitment to excellence, consistency, and player development throughout the season
Schedule:
- Winter season: early November - mid February (holidays off)
