The Infrastructure Solutions Architecture (ISA) group at Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is a cross-disciplined team that takes a full stack view on solution development. This team participates in the definition of high-level functional and non-functional requirements, analyzes technical trade-offs, decomposes major components and subsystems, and helps define the interfaces, collaborations, and dependencies between them.
The role of an ISA Global Architect is to strengthen that cycle while transcending specific business unit boundaries to represent infrastructure at an enterprise scale. Global team members partner closely with members of the engineering and development teams, operations team, and company leadership to ensure that ICE continues to deliver upon its business objectives.
The ISA Global team has the expertise to shape ground-breaking business products, material, and processes across the entire portfolio at ICE. The architects lead technology investigations and recommend solutions based on what they learn and foster understanding of our capabilities. Our insights influence product architecture and definitions. In cooperation with leadership, the ISA team plays a critical role to align teams in a common technical direction at ICE. This team represents a key element of the ICE technology governance process and embodies our goals for maintaining a high degree of standardization and quality in everything we do.
Responsibilities
- Develop and define infrastructure standards along with reusable reference architecture patterns
- Responsible for alignment with perimeter security architecture and design standards with business strategy, service delivery, and client and vendor relationships
- Focus developing resilient infrastructure solutions with a focus on scalability, reliability, availability, performance, and security
- Oversee the upkeep and consistency of our standards as expressed in Global Design Specifications annually.
- Partner closely with ISA Innovation and ISA Assurance teams to ensure they are aware of efforts underway to help maintain a feedback loop regarding new business requirements and challenges we have encountered
- Maintain continued knowledge of the business and IT architecture principles to identify and evaluate alternatives solutions
- Help identify gaps in current enterprise guiding principles and policies
- Review plans, processes, and strategies to identify areas for improvement or update
- Create/update Enterprise Architecture Guidance in the form of Design Patterns, Standards, and Implementation Guides
- Partner closely with ICE Enterprise PMO to ensure solutions can be delivered on time and within budget
- Create diagrams and documentation with all components that comprise IT systems including network topology with security measures and vulnerabilities
- Analyze IT specifications to assess security risks
- Design and implement safety measures and data recovery plans
- Work closely with subject matter experts to develop and deliver complete architecture solutions
- Provide governance recommendations for all existing cloud services and methodologies
- Ensure that all logging and monitoring concerns are well understood and implemented according to regulations
- Maintain continued education and certification in the relevant areas of expertise required of this role
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field
- Extensive background in designing infrastructure architectures for global enterprises
- Previous experience working in Network Architecture or Engineering.
- Previous experience working in a low-latency environment, such as the financial industry. Good knowledge of server operating systems and their TCP/IP stacks, Linux, and Windows
- Demonstrated technical expertise and acumen of over 10 years or more in one or more specialty fields (Systems - HW/OS, Storage, Security, Networking - L2/L3, Cloud (AWS / Azure / GCP)

Illinois Base Salary Range
The expected base salary for this role, if located in Illinois, is between $180,000 and $252,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual. Lockheed Martin seeks an innovative and talented Systems Engineer to join the Global Security team in Denver, Colorado, as a Systems Engineering Manager on the P267 team. The Global Security Systems Engineer Manager supporting P267 plays a vital role in end-to-end program execution by providing Full Spectrum Leadership, as well as Technical Leadership, to the multi-function diverse P267 SEIT team.
This position is considered 30% functional leadership and 70% technical leadership, leading the integration technical teams, to include Mechanical, Electrical, Payload, and Hardware/Software Integration Teams, and may include Control Account Manager responsibilities. As a Technical Lead, the Systems Engineer Manager position will guide the SEIT Integration Teams as they work with the vehicle and payload IPTs, and the customer team, to mature the top-level design and baseline key Space and Ground Enterprise level interfaces, working collaboratively to mature the CONOPS, Requirements, Interface Control Documents, and Architecture using both DOORS and Cameo.
This will involve considerable customer interface and regular meetings/working groups with the IPTs and customer, and potentially other contractors. The Systems Engineering Manager in this role will need to have a System of Systems perspective and Systems Thinking approach. In this role you will:
- Serve as the Full Spectrum Leader for the diverse Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team on P267, which includes Mechanical Systems Integrators, Electrical Systems Integrators, Payload Integrators, Hardware/Software Integrators, Architecture / MBSE team
- Perform staffing and performance responsibilities, in coordination with HR, Global Security senior leadership, and established processes
- Establish, manage, and communicate team expectations, goals, roles, responsibilities and objectives
- Operate using Systems Engineering processes and functions, tailored to a go-fast program
- Ensure program leadership (Chief Systems Engineer, Chief Engineer, Program Management, Customer Counterparts) are informed & engaged in decisions which impact contractual performance
- Oversee technical planning, system integration, and verification and validation planning for P267
- Oversee functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software requirements
- Oversee CDRL creation and work within digital toolset
- Provide guidance to the P267 SEIT team to include full Systems Engineering lifecycle processes, from architecture and requirements development through CDR
- Potentially act as the CAM for P267 Systems Engineering control accounts
