  • Participate in the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Support the implementation of process control strategies and alarm management.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and equipment failures, proposing and implementing corrective actions.
  • Assist in the scale-up of laboratory and pilot plant processes to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and R&D teams to ensure smooth process operations and project execution.
  • Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Contribute to safety reviews (e.g., HAZOP, PHA) and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and best practices in chemical engineering and process optimization.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment; internships or co-op experience highly valued.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental chemical engineering principles (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, reaction kinetics).
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.

Our client, a global leader in specialty chemicals and advanced materials, is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join their manufacturing facility in Dallas, Texas, US . This role is crucial for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, ensuring product quality, and contributing to the safe and sustainable operation of the plant. The successful candidate will play a key role in continuous improvement and new process development.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize existing chemical processes to improve efficiency, yield, quality, and reduce operational costs.
  • Design, develop, and implement new or modified chemical processes and equipment, from conceptualization to commissioning.
  • Conduct process simulations, material and energy balances, and economic evaluations for proposed process changes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO).
  • Develop and update process documentation, including P&IDs, operating procedures, and safety reviews.
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, quality control, and maintenance teams to support new product introductions and process improvements.
  • Lead and participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and other safety reviews.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation and advanced control strategies.
  • Manage small to medium-sized capital projects related to process upgrades or expansions.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations personnel.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 3-7 years of experience as a Process Engineer in a chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, or related industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS) and basic CAD software.
  • Experience with process control systems (DCS, PLC) is a plus.
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
