Key Responsibilities:
+ Strategic Vision and Alignment: Craft and articulate a vision for Data Management & Enteprise Integraton technologies as it specifically applies to the product engineering teams in alignment with the US Deloitte Technology Data strategy. Required Qualifications:
+ A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline. Experience is the most relevant factor.
+ Minimum 10 years of experience in data management, data governance, data structures, database systems, and data modeling.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in managing big data of various forms with data platforms such as SAP HANA, Databricks, Snowflake or other industry leading data platforms to generate insights and create intelligence.
+ Minimum 3 years of experience with cloud hyperscalers like AWS, Azure, or GCP to build cloud-native applications.
+ Minimim 2 years of experience leading and managing high-performing data engineering teams.
+ Minimim 1 year of experience with AI/ML and GenAI.
+ Prior experience implementing advanced data architectures that include zero-copy data sharing, data lakes and modern ELT strategies.
+ Prior experience in modern software engineering practices, including deployment techniques such as Blue-Green and Canary to support A/B testing strategies.
+ Prior software engineering experience with an understanding of Business Context Diagrams (BCD), sequence/activity/state/entity relationship/data flow diagrams, OOP/OOD, data structures, algorithms, and code instrumentations.
+ Prior experience using methodologies and tools such as XP, Lean, SAFe, DevSecOps, SRE, ADO, GitHub, SonarQube, etc. to deliver high-quality products rapidly.
+ Prior experience managing teams through complex transformation projects, especially focused on migrating from one data technology platform to another.
+ Prior experience working with, managing and mentoring multi-national teams across global time zones and cultures.
+ Prior experience creating a multi-year data strategy in support of organizational data and analytics needs.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $130,900 - $268,700.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

Department Overview
McDonald's Global Technology - Data & Analytics team is looking to hire a Sr Manager, Data Engineering who has a deep understanding of Data Product Lifecycle, Standards and Practices. This role would lead and own multiple products within the Global Data & Analytics team, from an engineering lead standpoint. This role is responsible for prioritizing multiple technical product backlogs, balancing new features, functional requirements, non-functional requirements and requests across teams and coordinating deployments with other Product Owners in the Data & Analytics team. The role requires the experience or proven aptitude to develop detailed domain knowledge of multiple products. The Senior Manager will oversee what work goes to development squads as the lead technology representative and decision-maker, working in tandem with the product team.
In this role, you will own responsibility for delivering data initiatives across our data product landscape, to globally improve and progress McDonalds to a world class data product organization. Partner with business customers and stakeholders to define and deliver the associated technical data product solutions using a mix of internal and external (vendor) resources and products and ensure successful integration with existing McDonald's systems.
Responsibilities
+ Build and maintains relevant and reliable data products that support the business needs. Develops and implements new technology solutions as needed to ensure ongoing improvement with data reliability and observability in-view
+ Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to launch scalable and reliable data solutions, support system integration efforts, and create operational efficiencies through automation and process improvements
+ Participates in new software development engineering. Helps to define business rules that determines the quality of data, assists the product owner in writing test scripts that validates business rules, and performs detailed and rigorous testing to ensure data quality
+ Develops a solid understanding of the technical details of data domains, and clearly understands what business problems are being solved
+ Owns engineering modules, functionalities and supports them throughout the data development lifecycle
+ Develop the data product's target technical blueprint and key technology decisions to deliver the roadmap
+ Designing and developing end-to-end data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into cloud data storage solutions (e.g., S3, Redshift, GCS, BigQuery).
+ Lead a back-end engineering team and facilitate cross-functional relationships to solve relevant business challenges
+ Implementing and maintaining scalable data architectures that support efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing.
+ Join forces with Product Managers across the organization to ensure alignment and coordination across products as necessary for multi-product work and initiatives
+ Participate in Intake Product Triage and decompose ideation tickets into Epics & Features with the help of the BTA, Project managers and deployment managers
+ Manage allocated resource and capacity including development, market enablement, bug resolution, site reliability engineering, and testing and reevaluate based on prioritized roadmap
+ Leveraging the product roadmap and release plan, provide capacity forecasting to Demand Management in advance, to plan for additional support or capacity required
+ Building and optimizing data integration workflows to connect data from different systems and platforms
+ Monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines, identifying and resolving performance issues and bottlenecks
+ Ensuring data security and compliance with data governance policies and regulations
+ Managing data infrastructure on cloud platform, including capacity planning, cost optimization, and resource allocation.
+ Staying up to date with emerging data engineering technologies, trends, and best practices, and evaluating their applicability to improve data systems and processes

Qualifications
+ BS in Computer Science or related field is REQUIRED
+ 10+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, specifically with AWS & GCP backend tech stack, including but not limited to S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, GCS, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, etc.
+ 8+ years of technically focused experience in related technologies and languages (Web Services, Java, XML, S3, NoSQL, Kafka, Spark, etc.)
+ 4+ years of experience in Master Data Management (MDM), Data Governance, and Data Quality domains, and MDM tools.
+ Reltio experience strong plus
+ Hands-on with Event, Workflow and Application driven Data Architecture. API and Microservices management
+ Working knowledge of cloud-based data systems, including AWS and GCP
+ Seasoned technical leader with hands-on development and deployment experience with insights into the newest technology and development trends.
+ Experience partnering with stakeholders across an at-scale, complex, global matrix org structure
+ 7+ years of experience with DevOps and data reliability engineering
+ 7+ years of hands-on experience with data modeling, ETL / ELT development, and data integration techniques (including real time data integration and processing)

**Compensation:**

This area covers data flowing on our customers, their loyalty, offers and campaign engagement, and other linked information. You'll work with a variety of teams and individuals, including product engineers to understand their data pipeline needs and come up with innovative solutions. You'll work with a team of talented engineers and collaborate with product managers and designers to help define new data products and features.
**Skills, accomplishments, interests you should have:**
+ BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline or equivalent combination of training and experience.
+ 5+ years core Scala/Java experience: building business logic layers and high-volume/low latency/big data pipelines.
+ 3+ years of experience in large scale real-time stream processing using Apache Flink or Apache Spark with messaging infrastructure like Kafka/Pulsar.
+ 5+ years of experience on Data Pipeline development, ETL and processing of structured and unstructured data.
+ 3+ years of experience using NoSQL systems like MongoDB, DynamoDB and Relational SQL Database systems (PostgreSQL) and Athena.
+ Experience with technologies like Lambda, API Gateway, AWS Fargate, ECS, CloudWatch, S3, DataDog.
+ Experience owning and implementing technical/data solutions or pipelines.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
+ Strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.

The Hartford is seeking an experienced and visionary Assistant Vice President (AVP) of AI and Data Engineering to lead our Global Specialty Data and Analytics portfolio. This strategic leader will drive the modernization of our data and analytics ecosystem, aligning with business objectives leveraging AI, cloud technologies, and a modern technology stack.
The ideal candidate has experience in developing large scale data ecosystems including data domains, data products, AI/ML solutions, analytics and business intelligence. The AVP will lead the development and implementation of advanced data engineering and AI capabilities. This is an opportunity for a forward-thinking data and analytics leader to influence the future of The Hartford.
This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Chicago IL, Hartford CT, Danbury CT, Alpharetta GA or Charlotte NC) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office can be in remote work arrangement with the expectation of coming into the office as business needs arise. Key Responsibilities:
+ Strategy and Execution: Lead the strategy and execution of complex and large Global Specialty Data and Analytics portfolio.
+ Data Modernization: Develop and implement a strategic roadmap to modernize legacy data and analytics ecosystems using Cloud and AI. Solve for data complexity by enabling data domains and data products for all consumption architypes and stakeholders including reporting, data science, AI/ML and analytics.
+ Architecture and Solution: Ensure data architecture and solutions align with enterprise-wide standards for Data, AI and Analytics.
+ Effectively communicate strategy, execution progress, and outcomes to diverse stakeholders and promote data capabilities through thought leadership and presentations.
+ AI Data Engineering leader responsible for Implementing AI data pipelines that integrate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data to support AI and Agentic solutions.
+ Real-Time Data Streaming: Design, build and maintain scalable real-time data pipelines for efficient ingestion, processing, and delivery.
+ Data and Analytics Management: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes and reporting systems.
+ Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team including business data analysts, data engineers and release train engineers.
+ Drive efficiency and Productivity: Identify and champion developer productivity improvements across the end-to-end data management lifecycle. This includes researching and implementing innovative solutions such as AI-driven auto-generation of data pipelines, advanced DevOps practices for data and automated data quality frameworks.
+ Technology Evaluation & Adoption: Stay current with emerging trends in data engineering and AI/ML and recommend innovative tools and technologies to enhance data capabilities enabling business strategy.
+ Data Governance, Stewardship and Quality: Define and implement robust data management frameworks to ensure successful adoption of Enterprise Data Governance and Data Quality practices.
+ Budget Management: Effectively manage the budget and financials for GS Data and Analytics portfolio.
+ This role requires strategic thinking, expertise in data engineering practices, knowledge of AI technologies, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. The candidate should be versed in real-time data streaming, agentic frameworks, Data APIs, vector stores, and RAG architectures, and have a track record of enabling self-serve analytics and AI use cases.
+ Develop deep partnerships and alignment with the portfolio and agile value stream frameworks. Experience with Agile at Scale and iterative development through cross-functional teams.
+ Partners with technology, data, AI platform, MLOps and Architecture teams to influence technology, data, platform and tooling strategy.
Qualifications
+ 15+ years in data engineering, data management and building large-scale data ecosystems.
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
+ 5+ years in senior leadership roles managing large and complex data and analytics portfolio with a people budget of at least $10M.
+ Proven strategic and innovative thinker with a track record of enabling transformative data capabilities.
+ Mastery level data engineering and architecture skills, including deep expertise in data architecture patterns, data warehouse, data integration, data lakes, data domains, data products, business intelligence, and cloud technology capabilities.
+ Technical expertise in LLMs, AI platforms, prompt engineering, LLM optimization, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and vector database technologies (Vertex AI, Postgres, OpenSearch, Pinecone etc.).
+ Strong experience with GCP, Vertex AI or AWS required.
+ Experience in multi cloud environment
+ Experience in Lang chain, AI agents, Vertex AI and Google Agent ecosystem.
+ Strong experience with the design and development of complex data ecosystems leveraging next-generation cloud technology stack across AWS or GCP Cloud and Snowflake.
+ Exceptional presentation and verbal/written communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively at all levels across the organization.
+ Ability to lead successfully in a lean, agile, and fast-paced organization, leveraging Scaled Agile principles and ways of working.
+ Excellent negotiation, influencing, and conflict resolution skills; adept at building strong cross-functional relationships.
+ Preferred experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$80,000 - 270,000
