Michael Baker International is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Accounts Payable Expense Reporting Specialist to join our Corporate Shared Services team. This remote position (Eastern Time Zone) plays a critical role in managing and administering our Emburse expense reporting platform and American Express card program. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Expense Reporting Manager, this individual will ensure compliance with the company's Travel and Expense Reimbursement Policy and serve as a subject matter expert across the organization. Responsibilities include:
- Ensure all expense reports are reviewed/approved and comply with the Travel and Expense Reimbursement Policy
- Identify and implement necessary process improvements for expense reporting along with ensuring training documents and related material are current
- Become company-wide subject matter expert of Emburse
- Administer the American Express card program to include reviewing card applications and ensuring transactions are properly flowing through Emburse
- Special projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of Emburse, Concur or equivalent expense reporting system experience required
- Embraces position with a sense of urgency and eager to proactively seek process improvements
- Strong Excel spreadsheet skills
- Microsoft Teams spreadsheet collaboration
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Self-motivated, flexible, able to seek out objectives and complete tasks with minimal direction in a deadline driven environment
- Excellent business communication skills - both written and verbal
- Team player with ability to interact with all levels of the organization

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other
We're looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable & Expense Reporting Specialist to support the day-to-day processing of vendor invoices and employee expense reports. This role ensures timely payments, accurate recordkeeping, and compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, process, and code vendor invoices for payment in accordance with company policies and accounting principles
- Monitor and reconcile accounts payable aging, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies
- Assist with vendor onboarding and maintain accurate vendor records
- Work with internal teams to resolve invoice submission issues
- Prepare payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers
- Assist with monthly closing activities related to accounts payable and expense accruals
- Support internal and external audit requests related to AP and expense reporting
- Help implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft D365 software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- AA degree in accounting preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Associates degree in Accounting, Business or Finance with 2 years experience.

We are seeking an Analyst to work in a hybrid role across fund expense management and financial reporting. You'll play a key role in ensuring accuracy and transparency in fund operating expenses, managing complex financial reporting cycles, and supporting key regulatory filings. This role requires strong technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to operate independently in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
Fund Expense Management- Lead the preparation and oversight of fund operating expense accruals and financial statement support schedules.
- Analyze and forecast fund expenses to support annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.
- Manage disbursements, regulatory filings (e.g., Form 1099, SEC Form 24f-2), and board reporting materials.
- Evaluate and enhance documentation of internal processes and controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements and related SEC filings (e.g., Forms N-CSR, N-PORT) across mutual funds, CITs, and alternative investment products.
- Coordinate with auditors, custodians, service providers, and internal teams to deliver high-quality reports on schedule.
- Support year-end audits and ad hoc financial projects across fund structures and reporting platforms.
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline reporting workflows and strengthen regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
- Up to two years of relevant experience in fund administration, financial reporting, or accounting within asset management.
- Knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements; IFRS experience a plus.
- Familiarity with mutual funds, ETFs, CITs, LLCs, and partnership accounting.
- Solid understanding of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and other applicable regulations is a plus.
- Ability to manage complex workloads, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality results under deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to stakeholders and collaborating across functions.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., Confluence Unity) highly preferred.
- Willingness to work extended hours during key reporting cycles as needed.
