Statement of Purpose:
Iona University seeks applications for the position of Assistant Club Men's Rugby Coach. Reporting to the Director of Club Sports. The Assistant Club Men's Rugby Coach is responsible for all aspects of the club program as well as being committed to the academic mission of the University. The Assistant Club Men's Rugby Coach teaches the sport of Rugby to student-athletes, and provides for coaching, recruitment and retention of rugby players.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be knowledgeable of, and abide by, all College and campus policies, club sport policies, and conference/league requirements.
- Plan, organize and lead the operations for the club sport program including coaching, fundraising, budgeting and travel arrangements.
- Travel with and supervise team at home and away games to ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- It is important for the Assistant Club Men's Rugby Coach to have a background in the sport.
- Must grasp the current men's rugby strategies and techniques.
- Possess a valid driver's license

This will be the ideal job for someone who is looking to primarily train clients, and then have the opportunity (if desired) to be part of other day-to-day club management / operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Personal Trainer / Coach will be hired primarily to help our members achieve their fitness and health goals - whether it is for better sports performance, quality of life, enjoyment, or medical reasons. These positions will consist of one or all of the following: working with one-on-one clients, small group training classes (up to 6 people each) as well as rendering Fitness or Nutritional Consultations with individual members. Secondly, this position can involve handling day-to-day club management needs (if desired).
QUALIFICATIONS
-At least one nationally recognized Personal Training Certification in either of the following: American Council on Exercise (ACE); American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM); National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM); National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA).
- Nutrition Certification highly desired.
- Must live within 20 minute radius of club. Because of the nature of the job, local candidates only.
- Current CPR, AED and First Aid Certification.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have the following characteristics: assertive, passionate, punctual, outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, courteous, attentive, respectful, and empathetic. A professional and courteous manner to all members and clients will be strictly enforced.
- Two years experience in a health club environment.
- Strong computer, organizational, communication and calendar management skills.
- At least 1 years training experience.
HOURS, PAY AND BENEFITS
Negotiable based on experience, qualifications and availability. Can be Independent Contractor status, or Part Time hours per week, plus commission of PT sales, -- with Full Time Potential in time.
