We are currently looking to hire a Quality and Food Safety Director based in our Dallas, Texas beverage manufacturing facility! In this role, you will oversee the Dallas plant quality department, ensuring the overall, long-term success of the organization. You will deliver the value promises to the customer and consumer by ensuring conformity in product, processes and behaviors. Act as guardian of compliance to legal and regulatory standards (master governance) by driving the delivery of the "best product every day, every time" and acting as a product superiority ambassador at the plant level.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring Food Safety & Conformity of all products delivered to market, consistently with the plant's overall safety, quality, cost, delivery, mobilization, and nature scorecard specifications.
- Ensuring full compliance with finished product Quality & Food Safety Sampling / Control / Monitoring plan.
- Ensuring compliance with Local regulations, global Danone procedures and systematically execute against Danone North America specifications.
- Manage Plant Laboratory ensuring maintenance of service to production, analytical expertise, equipment maintenance, and analyst training.
- Drive the culture of quality at the plant level - support KPI tracking and improvement.
- Act as primary point of contact for quality at plant level: ensure quality voice presence for all matters within the plant.
- Continuously engage key stakeholders inside and outside the organization on quality initiatives (This includes plant leadership, universities, federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, corporate function representatives, etc.).
- Communicate and assure the execution of QFS policies including the escalation and communication of issues and results in a timely manner.
- Manage and animate all certifications systems, including but not limited to GFSI/FSSC 22000 Certification, Kosher, Organic, etc.
- Organize trainings & coach plant teams for daily quality management, particularly First Line Managers.
- Develop the Quality team and promote mobility and cross-functionally.
- Ensuring adherence to plant standards (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, CODES, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate in and own the implementation and deployment of IWS or related integrated work systems and corresponding pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.

About You- Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, or related field with a minimum of 10 years of quality experience within a food or beverage manufacturing environment, required.

- You are able to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment as business needs dictate. Work schedules could include early morning, late night or weekend work as needed.

The Food Safety & Quality Manager (PCQI) will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Food Safety and Food Defense requirements outlined in American Institute of Baking (AIB/FSNS) Food Distribution Warehouse, Food Defense plus and other 3rd party auditing scheme throughout the Quality Packaging (Frito Lay) Facilities.
Pay: $65,000-$70,000/year
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Reports to the Operations Manager
- Manages Food Defense Program
- Ensures activities on the Master Cleaning Schedule (MCS) are performed and documented
- Ensures that cGMP and Quality requirements are followed throughout the facility
- Maintains AIB certification and meets minimum 965 score
- Ensures that facility is following Sedexs social responsibility requirements
- Communicates challenges, findings and suggestions for continuous improvement with Food Safety and QA Supervisor
- Maintains approved chemical list database and monitors chemical control program
- Establishes and maintains the Internal Audit schedule
- Trains personnel on policies and procedures
- Performs Root Cause Analysis and develops Corrective Action Plans
- Active participant in the Daily Staff Meetings
- Active Safety Committee Member
- Maintains certification as a First Aid Responder and accredited CEs
- Enforces adherence to Control Plan
- Obeys all Safety Rules
- Helps conduct accident and incident investigations.
- Completes assigned tasks listed in Corrective Action Plans
- Understands Lean Manufacturing tools including: 5 whys, Brainstorming, Fishbone, Graphs and Root Cause Analysis
- Maintains equipment calibration
- Performs emergency drills
- Observes all company rules and regulations as per current Employee Handbook
- Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Educational Background:
High school Diploma or GED equivalent
Knowledge/Skills Required:
3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment working in a management role.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Some college
- Working knowledge and experience with Safety Programs (OSHA, Workman's Comp).
- Working knowledge and experience with Quality Assurance Management (RCAs, Corrective/Preventative Measures, ISO, AIB, SQF).
- Working knowledge or certification in Continuous Improvement Methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
- Experience communicating Quality and Production performance to customers.
- Experience working with a temporary workforce.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Computer literacy for usage of WMS, e-mail, MS Office applications, intranet, and file management and integration.
- Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus
- Able to work flexible hours, minimal travel

As an **Associate Product Safety and Quality Assurance (PSQA) Analyst** , you'll work closely with the PSQA Team. Your primary focus will be supporting the development, documentation, execution, and review of **Quality and Product Safety testing** for **Exclusive Brands (EB) product development** .
**Testing & Specification Management:**
+ Help create, review, and edit **testing specifications** for Exclusive Brands food, beverage, supplement, body care, and household products from both domestic and international vendors.
+ Proactively assist the Testing & Product Quality teams in **prioritizing and completing project work** to meet established timelines.
+ Provide **technical assistance to suppliers** as needed to ensure testing relevance, specification accuracy, and overall project success.
**Communication & Project Coordination:**
+ Manage **daily communication** with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
+ Handle follow-up on project correspondence and monitor **project activity timelines and due dates** .
**Data & Documentation Review:**
+ Work daily within the **Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) system** to update and evaluate product specifications for completeness.
+ Monitor for **significant supplier specification changes** within the PLM system.
+ Evaluate and summarize **test results, technical document specifications** , and other supporting documentation (e.g., shelf-life validations, technical literature) to aid in product testing development, product launch approval, and ongoing product maintenance.
+ Review **product label art** to ensure claims and other product attributes align with technical specifications.
+ Review **pre-production testing** and **first production testing results** for compliance with Whole Foods Market specifications.
**Quality Assurance & Compliance:**
+ **Escalate out-of-specification results** or significant supplier specification changes to a PSQA for review.
+ Track and trend test results and non-conformances using spreadsheets, PLM, or Quality Management Systems (QMS) based on current processes.
+ Assist with **ad hoc tasks** for the Testing and Product Quality teams.
**Job Requirements:**
+ 1-2 years of experience within retail, food manufacturing or packaged goods industries
+ BS in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or related field
+ Excellent and proactive communication, written and verbal
+ Proficient Microsoft Office skills
+ Product Lifecycle Management database experience is preferred
+ Experience with specialty, natural and organic foods a plus

The Food Safety Quality Lead will provide specialized knowledge of specific segments of quality systems or plant processes such as food safety and quality auditing, instrumentation, specific product line knowledge, computer systems, management or oversight of suppliers and other needed focus areas. Food Safety Quality Lead RESPONSIBILITIES Reports to the Plant Manager, interface with internal management, and external auditors. Ensures activities on the Master Cleaning Schedule (MCS) are performed and documented Ensures that cGMP and Quality requirements are followed throughout facility Maintains AIB certification and meets minimum 965 score Communicates challenges, findings and suggestions for continuous improvement Maintains approved chemical list database and monitors chemical control program Establishes and maintains the Internal Audit schedule Trains personnel on policies and procedures Performs Root Cause Analysis and develops Corrective Action Plans Active participant in the Daily Staff Meetings, be an active Safety Committee Member Maintains certification as a First Aid Responder and accredited CE's Enforces adherence to Control Plan Completes assigned tasks listed in Corrective Action Plans Understands Lean Manufacturing tools including : 5 why's, Brainstorming, Fishbone, Graphs and Root Cause Analysis Qualifications REQUIREMENTS 3 -5 year's experience in a manufacturing environment working in a management or supervisory role.
