ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE

Experts of operations, process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

  • Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store
  • Experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory management, and process efficiency and improvement
  • Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

As a General Merchandise Expert, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact. Follow body language and verbal clues to tailor your approach
  • Engage with guests in a genuine way, which include asking questions to better understand their specific needs
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience
  • Thank the guest in a genuine way and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target
  • Be knowledgeable of GM areas to ensure sales floor is zoned, in stock and accurately signed and priced for guests
  • Acknowledge guests as you complete workload with minimal guest disruption; partner with leadership to prioritize daily workload based on business and guest needs
  • Ensure regular and promotional signing is set accurately for GM categories and be knowledgeable of products in the ad
  • Execute inbound, replenishment, backroom and signing processes for GM areas
  • Execute processes including pricing, presentation sets, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areas
  • Understand how operational procedures, like planogram (POG) ties, product capacities and salesfloor quantities impact shortage, profitability, in store replenishment and inventory accuracy
  • Operate power equipment only if certified
  • Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others; identify and correct hazards; comply with all safety policies and best practices
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, and digital fulfillment processes and maintain compliance culture while executing those duties, such as federal, state, and local adult beverage laws
  • All other duties based on business needs

    The Food Safety Sanitor performs sanitation labor by performing the eight steps of sanitation while understanding and complying with all food safety and safety policies and procedures. Job duties include:
    - Work cooperatively with leads and management to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
    - Frequently lift hoses, equipment, and chemical containers, etc.
    - Wear employer-specified personal protective equipment ("PPE") such as gloves, face shield, eye goggles, aprons, boots, safety glasses, etc.
    - Exposure to chemicals (with PPE required for the task).
    - All night standing, lifting, and crouching for periods at a time.
    - Perform all tasks safely.
    - Use Lock-out tag-out ("LOTO").
    - Other duties as assigned.
    **YOUR MUST HAVES:**
    + Must be 18 years of age or older.
    + Ability to take direction and instruction from managers and be accountable for own actions.
    + Safety awareness and attention to detail.
    + Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations.

This person will also support the First Article process from start to finish including dimensioning and documentation including submitting first article documentation to Engineering for approval. This person will interact with the Materials Dept. (Receiving, Production Planning/Scheduling and Inventory Control) personnel to assure accurate and efficient processing of incoming material from receiving; acceptance and disposition into the appropriate location (perform inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures) as well as with Engineering for First Article clarification and completion. Additionally, you will: Performs visual and dimensional measurements (first articles) of complex purchased and internal components using microscope, caliper, micrometer, pins gauge, gauge block, height gage, and drop indicator amongst other measurement equipment.Manage, conduct and interpret the results of component qualification (e.g., first article inspection) activities.     The Global Financial Crimes Surveillance Unit (GFCSU), part of Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC), provides end-to-end support and oversight of global financial crimes investigations. In conjunction with GFCC partners, the GFCSU develops and implements automated transaction monitoring rules, reports, and other processes designed to identify activity potentially indicative of criminal behavior. The GFCSU also investigates potentially suspicious financial activity and, when appropriate, files suspicious activity reports (SARs) with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), which is part of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and/or refers matters to internal compliance partners for review and reporting globally. In addition, the GFCSU manages risk associated with politically exposed persons and persons and entities on core sanctions and risk lists through regular screening, and manages risk associated with improper payments that could be indicative of bribery, corruption, or other illicit activity by reviewing internal American Express payments and expenditures. The GFCSU performs a critical role in ensuring that American Express complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and provides law enforcement with key information for the investigation and prosecution of money laundering and terrorist financing, credit card fraud, identity theft, and other criminal activity.
    **How will you make an impact in this role?**
    The Manager GFCSU Regulatory Testing and Quality Program position will report to the Director of Financial Intelligence Unit - Governance and Capacity Planning. Leading a team of Quality Assurance/Control Analysts, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that an effective Compliance quality monitoring program exists across GFCSU processes. This role will interface regularly with GFCSU and GFCC leadership and other Compliance colleagues.
    + Effectively lead, coach and develop a team of Quality Analysts to execute quality and control testing of AML, Screening, EDD, and Anti-Corruption processes managed by the GFSCU, which includes evaluation of alert investigations against established regulatory and procedural requirements and providing feedback to the relevant team(s).
    + Oversee the planning, execution and reporting of quality and control testing in conformance with professional and department standards.
    + Collaborate with GFCC teams to understand the data behind key processes, risks, and controls to ensure effective testing is established to measure results against requirements.
    + Identify trends in investigative quality and procedural adherence, working closely with GFCC leaders to help improve processes accordingly.
    + Monitor and maintain portfolio of quality analytics to assess and communicate results.
    + Present quality program objectives, scope, and results to senior management, clearly articulating the potential impact of control gaps in a highly professional and proficient manner.
    + Manage initiatives to expand and enhance quality review processes and technology.
