Job DescriptionJob Description Improve performance, reduce waste, and contribute to growth.· Ownership of engineering aspects in production optimization of site processes.· Assist production in troubleshooting efforts, including data gathering and trending.· Develop computer-based tools to improve efficiency at the site.· Assist with identification, development, and implementation of capital projects to improve safety, environmental compliance, quality, productivity, and cost.· Responsible for management and reporting of plant maintenance budgets and costs· Identify and implement projects to reduce cost and energy usage and to improve productivity.· Lead process optimization activities in cooperation with other functions· Lead continuous activities including root cause analysis, predictive failure analyses, capital spares, etc.· Leads Six Sigma efforts for the maintenance team and actively participates on Site TeamsØ Maintenance/Project Engineering:· Keep the plant in optimum operating condition.· Lead maintenance craftsmen, parts warehouse, purchasing functions and computer system.· Serves as Project Manager for plant projects.· Maintain plant engineering documentation: flowsheets, plot plans, electrical drawings, and mechanical integrity files (includes PFDs, P&ID s, Operating Procedures)· Direct outside vendors and service providers for project installations· Drive the Preventive Maintenance and Inspection programs; leads all EIT activities.· Ensures maintenance QA/QC activities are timely completed.· Ensures SOX and ISO activities as related to maintenance are timely completed.· Leads/directs all site maintenance activities.· Ensures SAP PM system and MI systems are fully implemented and utilized.· Uses structured problem-solving techniques, analytical tools, and teamwork to improve Product quality.Ø Environmental Health & Safety:· The goal is simple – we want everyone to be able to go home the same way they came to work.· Actively promotes ownership of EHS throughout the site through actions and participation on EHS Committees· Drives OSHA PSM standards compliance, including Management of Change.· Actively participates in PHA reviews and facilities improvements as the site MOC Coordinator.· Engages in EHS incident investigations and constructs solutions to prevent recurrence.· Contributes to the development and implementation of environmental programs and regulations; assists with data tracking/trending for permit compliance.· Recommends waste reduction methods and formula changes to reduce process waste.Ø Associate Engagement:· Continuously contribute to the growth and development of the team that makes the site run.· Assist with safety, environmental, and technical training.· Recognize strong performance and provide corrective feedback/progressive discipline as needed.· Encourages growth and development through providing strong, actionable feedback in the annual performance review process for unit members.· Participates in 360 feedbacks; participates in Leadership Development meetings; serves as a member of the Site Leadership Team; supports and drives continuous improvement activities for the facility· Presents key performance indicators to leadership staff Effectively partners with production staff; encourages continuous improvement mindset in others.· Participates in IMPACT and ensures unit goals align with those of the site & the Corporation.QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS v BS Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 3-5+ years’ experience in chemical plant or refinery, or equivalent industrial manufacturingv Must have worked in a process safety management plant environment.v Ability to apply daily and lead with safety, environmental and industrial hygiene rules, and regulations at the forefront of your work.v Ability to engage site associates as well as effectively interact with team members at all levels of the organization.v Demonstrated ability to critical thinking and analytical skills in all aspects of your work.v Self-driven with high a level of initiative.v Strong leadership qualities and ability to engage associates through every stage of their work.v Demonstrated ability to drive associate alignment and accountability.

We have a new and exciting opening for Plant Engineer at our recently integrated Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin location. We manufacture our own ingredients by fermentation and perform contract fermentations and associated product recovery here, growing our business in both areas. The Plant Engineer is responsible for maintenance personnel/contractors, activities, and permitting. Also responsible for managing the SAP PM system and associated work orders, maintenance purchase requisitions, and inventory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and plan maintenance activities of Mechanics, Millwrights, E&I Technicians and other outside contractors
- Supervise and manages plant utilities and associated personnel
- Manage some capital projects within agreed costs and timeline
- Work closely with Engineering and Operations Teams to develop a plan for shutdowns which include scheduling personnel and contractors as needed to limit downtime while safely accomplishing all scheduled activities
- Identify, diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues as needed
- Verify and issue work orders (preventive & corrective) as needed to maintain the plant and equipment
- Drive and optimize effective use of SAP PM software to improve equipment reliability
- Verify Management of Change (MOC) is completed for any project not considered replacement in-kind
- Assist in process hazard analysis (PHA), risk assessments (LOPA), and Pre-startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) to ensure process hazards are identified and verify that appropriate prevention and/or mitigation layers are installed/implemented to meet company risk criteria
- Participate in weekly operations meetings to coordinate maintenance activities with operations
- Effective communication, both oral and written, with team members and others to describe unit conditions and observed situations
- Ensure compliance with operating procedures, quality management, and safety and environmental procedures as necessary to maintain equipment
- Ability to respond to emergency situations within the limits of training and qualifications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of equivalent industry experience required (10+ with 5+ years in a supervisory role)
- High level of mechanical aptitude, strong supervisor skills, strong computer skills including the use of a maintenance management software system
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform essential physical functions of the position including climbing stairs, ladders, and lifting to 55lbs
- Ability to enter confined spaces while wearing a respirator
