ERM is hiring a Health & Safety Inspector to support our client at a facility in Accomack, VA. In this role, you will work onsite with a client representative to support management systems and safety compliance.  This is a full-time (50+hrs/week), limited-term role for a duration of 3 months , renewable.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare a daily “punch list” of identified health and safety items for the client’s review and consideration.
  • Directly communicate with the client representatives regularly for direction and outstanding items documented. This role will not be responsible for implementation of health and safety corrective actions.
  • Preparation of a brief summary memorandum of the weekly items identified and communications.
  • Keeps the management team informed of any safety, health, and security related issues and/or concerns identified within scope of responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, business management, or related field is preferred.  In the absence of a degree, directly related work experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of progressively increasing safety & security responsibility with 3 - 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to self-direct work with minimal guidance and oversight. 
  • Requires strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with hourly workforce, technical personnel, senior management, contractors, and regulatory agencies.  Strong written and oral communication skills with proficient use of Microsoft office suite. 
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data to support safety initiatives. Highly developed planning and organization skills. Detailed knowledge of health and safety regulations issued by OSHA, workers compensation and other governmental agencies. 
  • Direct personnel management experience, professional safety, or security certifications; bi-lingual capabilities is a plus; expert knowledge of health and safety disciplines related to food processing.
  • Ability to support on multiple shifts required as needed.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
  • When in a plant environment:
    • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
    • May be exposed to temperatures of subfreezing to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
    • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
    • May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.

Duties/Responsibilities

Performs electrical inspections of commercial, industrial, residential & agricultural buildings, towers, public street visual and traffic lights; verifies compliance with National Electric Code (NEC); provides quality customer service; complies with safety practices and all departmental, county, state federal policies/procedures/regulations and laws. (E.g. wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), use appropriate equipment to safely perform job duties, promptly report unsafe conditions).

Provides expertise in answering questions from contractors, engineers, architects, building inspectors & property owners regarding electrical code, general electrical practices, regulations & specifications. Acts as liaison between contractors & property owners; resolves conflicts which may occur; answers questions regarding electrical codes, general electrical practices and/or regulations and specifications.

Completes plans & pre-plan review of residential & commercial plans to check for permit & NEC Code compliance. Performs quality control inspections on electrical materials, cables, devices, panel boards & boxes; verifies compliance with specifications.

Performs office duties such as entering dimensions & areas of buildings into a RES Check or Com Check program; determines size and type of insulation requirements from information gathered. Analyzes electrical load calculations.

Performs others duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.); 5 yrs. experience working at the journeyman level in building inspections; valid Ohio Driver's License.

Job Title: Site Safety InspectorJob Description
We are seeking a motivated Site Safety Inspector to work during the day shift, responsible for conducting safety inspections across various project sites and compiling comprehensive reports. The role also involves assisting in the development and review of Health and Safety procedures, conducting safety-related training, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct safety inspections at various project sites.
+ Develop detailed reports following each inspection.
+ Assist in the development and review of Health and Safety procedures and programs.
+ Conduct safety-related training sessions.
+ Provide compliance assistance to projects.
+ Ensure all safety requirements of the Building Code and OSHA are met.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 4 years' experience in project safety.
+ Reliable transportation for travel to various sites.
+ OSHA 30 certification.
+ Knowledge of relevant safety requirements including OSHA, NYC DOB, NYC DEP, DOT, and local, state, and federal safety regulations.
+ Experience in conducting safety inspections.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Safety Training and Certifications.
+ SST Card.
+ CHST or CSP preferred.
Work Environment
The Site Safety Inspector will work on projects throughout the five boroughs, with operational hours from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Site Safety Inspector to join a dynamic team overseeing multiple construction projects across New York City. This is a day-shift role (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) focused on ensuring safety compliance, conducting site inspections, and supporting the development of health and safety programs.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform routine safety inspections across various active project sites.
+ Prepare and submit detailed safety inspection reports.
+ Assist in the creation and review of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
+ Lead safety training sessions for on-site personnel.
+ Ensure compliance with OSHA, NYC Building Code, and other applicable safety regulations.

Required Qualifications

+ OSHA 30 certification.
+ Valid SST Card.

+ Demonstrated experience conducting safety inspections and reporting.
Preferred Certifications
+ CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification is a plus.
+ Additional safety training certifications are highly desirable.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Firestopping Inspector with a minimum of 2+ years of experience and relevant certifications in Life Safety/Firestop inspections to service clients throughout Western PA.
Responsibilities:
+ Firestop Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of firestops within the facility, including walls, joints, and penetrations.
+ certified in firestop: ICC, FTE, commercial building experience, STI or HILTI certifications
+ Compliance Verification: Ensure that all firestops meet the standards outlined in ASTM E2174 and E2393.
+ Code Compliance: Verify that firestops are in compliance with the 2012 International Building Code (IBC), especially for buildings exceeding 75 feet in height and category III and IV buildings (Chapter 17, section 1705.16 of the IBC).
+ Statewide Health Planning and Development: Verify compliance with Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) Policy Intent Notice (PIN) 67 for new regional requirements specific to California.
+ Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and any corrective actions taken.
+ Reporting: Prepare and submit comprehensive inspection reports to management and relevant authorities as required.
+ Collaboration: Collaborate with construction teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to address any non-compliance issues and ensure timely rectification.
+ Training and Education: Stay updated on the latest developments in firestop technology, standards, and regulations through training and professional development.
Requirements:
+ Minimum of 2+ years of experience in firestopping inspections or related field, along with relevant certifications.
+ Knowledge of ASTM E2174 and E2393 standards.
+ Familiarity with the 2012 International Building Code (IBC).
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Certification or relevant training in firestop inspections is a plus.
