The Director, Hospital Operations is responsible for the strategic, administrative, operational, financial, and business management of Service Line(s)/department(s). This includes developing and implementing the program(s)' strategic and financial growth under direction of the Service Line Vice President and in collaboration with the medical and surgical directors for the respective programs. The Director, Hospital Operations is responsible for leading the long-term development and success of his/her/their SL/program/department(s), including continuously identifying, developing, and implementing methods to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, safety, financial performance, patient satisfaction, and the quality of the services provided to patients, family members, and referring physicians. The Director, Hospital Operations guides subordinate managers and leads them to achieving well-defined goals and objectives in a metrics focused, performance based model of healthcare delivery. The Director, Hospital Operations is well versed in the community and abreast market trends within their areas of oversight. Under the direction of the Service Line Vice President, the Director, Hospital Operations manages the relationships with pertinent Affiliates.
Program Management and Execution:
- Works closely with physician leaders and administrators within assigned SL/department(s) to manage clinical operations across the continuum of care (ambulatory, perioperative, and inpatient).
- Represents his/her/their SL/department(s) in strategic business and growth initiatives.
- Serves as delegate for Service Line Vice President as needed.
- Oversees performance improvement projects related to increased productivity, operational efficiency, asset utilization, capacity management, cost structure/performance, and quality in order to meet organizational objectives.
- Responsible for compliance with all regulatory requirements, including CMS, DOH, and The Joint Commission.
- Develops and implements the annual capital and operating budget to include a review system for tracking and controlling all department revenues and expenses to ensure the effective allocation, utilization, and management of funds.
- Recruits, hires, orients, supervises, coaches, evaluates, educates, and disciplines staff within the assigned span of control.
- Manages the planning and implementation of developing additional programs as part of his/her/their SL/department(s) growth strategy.
- Responds timely and effectively to unplanned circumstances, demands, and challenges facing the programs of oversight.
- Works closely with contract management department to ensure up-to-date and favorable payor contracts in addition to maintaining status and applying for Center of Excellence designations.
- On call 24/7/365 as SL/program administrator unless alternative coverage is delegated and communicated.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Oversees and is responsible for key performance indicators (KPI) and disseminates information to key stakeholders.
- Oversees and is responsible compliance with CMS, DOH, and The Joint Commission requirements.
- Develops business plans and proformas.
Communication Activities:
- Develops strong, interdisciplinary teamwork and communication among program personnel, including physicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, nutritionists, financial counselors, and performance improvement personnel.
- Prepares concise, creative, professional summaries of analyses and plans.
- Builds strong working relationships with community-based physicians who refer patients to Jefferson and assures optimal service delivery and transition of these patients back to these physicians (as applicable).
Educational/Training Requirements:
Masters Business/Health Administration Required.
Additional Training Requirements:
Masters degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or another related is required.
Certificates/Licenses/Registration:
Certification in LEAN/change management techniques preferred.

- Basic understanding of the existing Contract between the company and the Customer, including the ability to facilitate this document.
- Assist with the supervision of the HST personnel including but not limited to training, performance reviews and engaging in corrective action plans when necessary. Helping to establish and administer the reporting requirements, and directing their career development.
- Assist with management of staffing schedules based upon equipment volume, and foster cooperation among the various shifts to ensure a positive team approach. Work to deliver a dedicated and harmonious working environment in which staff retention is a focus.
- Facilitate, educate and deliver the HST training manual for each employee.
- Provide ongoing supervision of all HST personnel in the daily operation of the ASSET360. Coach staff in problem solving, effective communication and conflict resolution situations. Work with Operations Manager - Hospital to develop career path opportunities for all FTE's.
- Provide leadership of all HST personnel in regards to training and education of ASSET360 policies, procedures and best practices. This also includes training and use of in Care.

Essential Responsibilities:
+ As a call in (per diem) Supervisor, provides management oversite for nursing and as needed for ancillary departments during off-hours and weekends.
+ Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff.
+ Provides nursing consultation to unit staff, peers, medical staff and other hospital personnel.
+ Acts as on-site administrative representative for Hospital Administration outside of customary business hours.
+ Communicates with and reports to Administrator-On-Call issues affecting hospital operations.
+ Provides direction and support to ancillary services after hours to ensure quality service and a safe environment for patients and staff.

+ Serves as Incident Commander initially and Operations Manager (or other role as assigned) in the Emergency Operations Center during facility and community emergency situations.

+ Communicates with Administrator on Call.

+ Facilitates and coordinates emergent care and/or provision for safety needs.

+ Monitors and adjusts nursing shift staffing to meet patient needs in conjunction with unit manager or unit charge nurse.

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The mission of HCA's Data Office is to transform data into a strategic asset, empowering clinicians and business leaders with trustworthy, actionable insights that improve patient care, operational efficiency, and financial performance. We accomplish this by designing, building, and managing data as a product itself.
The Data Product Owner is the "CEO of the data product," responsible for directing the activities of cross-functional teams to design, develop, and manage data as a product. This role bridges stakeholders (including data consumers, internal teams, and executives) and the data development team, translating business needs into data product requirements and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reusable data solutions. The Data Product Owner is key in driving the development of data products that enable actionable insights, improve decision-making, and drive organizational success.
This Data Product Owner will be responsible for our Hospital Operations data products. These data products combine data from multiple systems to provide a single, trusted source for all information about our hospitals' operational performance and metrics. While the initial scope will focus on ED Operations, it will eventually expand to other locations within our hospitals. They must engage with leaders and stakeholders across HCA to build and deliver on a Data Product roadmap which enables high-value use cases in many business domains.
They will be responsible for delivery from pods (dedicated, cross-functional teams) for both products. Ideal candidates will have 10+ years' experience work with data and 7+ years' experience working with Healthcare data. They must create and manage budgets for the pods and product teams, manage other professional employees and managers.
Due to the strategic importance and complexity of these data products, this person will also manage and directly hire other direct employees who help lead those data product pods. This person must also perform employee reviews for those staff.

**Data Product Vision and Strategy**
+ Develop and communicate a clear data product vision and roadmap for Hospital Operations Data Products that aligns with enterprise business objectives and priorities.

+ Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Engineers, and Analysts to estimate effort and complexity for backlog items.

**Stakeholder Collaboration**
+ Act as the primary liaison between business leaders, data consumers, and the Data Office, ensuring alignment with data product objectives.
+ Serve as the "voice of the customer" within the team, advocating for the needs of data consumers and ensuring the right data products are developed.
+ Work closely with Product Owners of use cases to align data product designs with use case needs and ensure the delivery of fit-for-purpose solutions.
+ Facilitate communication and alignment among cross-functional teams, addressing dependencies and blockers.
+ Provide education and support to stakeholders on the value, use, and capabilities of data products.
**Agile Process Participation**
+ Participate in Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, Demos, and Stand-Ups to ensure smooth execution of data product development.
+ Define and validate acceptance criteria for each data product increment, ensuring delivery aligns with requirements and quality standards.
+ Use metrics and data-driven insights to track data product performance and inform future development priorities.
+ Partner with Scrum Masters and Data Engineers to drive continuous improvement in development processes.
**Governance, Quality Assurance, and Metrics**
+ Collaborate with the Data Governance team and Data Domain Owners to define quality control metrics and implement processes to ensure the quality and integrity of data products.
+ Work with Data Domain Owners to establish clear accountability and quality standards for data at the source, ensuring adherence to data governance policies.
+ Define and implement monitoring and reporting frameworks to measure the completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data products.
+ Ensure data products are compliant with governance, security, and privacy standards while meeting enterprise quality expectations.
