THE ROLE

Insomniac Events is currently seeking candidates for a Human Resources Intern. This position will provide direct support to the Human Resources team. This is a paid internship and is not a remote position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gain knowledge of corporate special event management and activity coordination, working alongside internal staff

Essential Duties, Functions And/or Responsibilities Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders across the organization Evaluate job placement proposals from existing and new employment placement agencies, negotiate placement fees, hiring release agreements, and term limits for HR Director review and approval Identify cost efficient and effective skills and personality assessment testing sources appropriate by job class; maintain testing results; coordinate assessment testing to complement hiring initiatives, job fit, learning agility and succession planning objectives Advise on complex employee relations matters, investigations, performance issues, and policy interpretation with a focus on risk mitigation and culture stewardship Participate in local jobs fairs if appropriate and timely Participate in and help lead New Hire Orientation Work closely with hiring manager and Training and team to identify employee training needs during initial on-boarding (90 days) and as needed for current employee development and career progression Identify best practices to attract and retain engaged employee owners interested in long-term careers with the Company Assist Leadership in the design, development, and maintenance of an automated and customized performance evaluation system via Paycom software Review completed performance evaluations to help identify employee development needs, and potential talents in future leaders of the Company Assist managers in identifying, developing, and optimizing employee talent and in developing career paths for leadership opportunities in the branch and region. Champion organizational effectiveness, transformation, and change management initiatives Monitor, maintain, compile data, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for EEO-1, VET100, OFCCP-Affirmative Action Analysis. Assist management in trouble shooting Paycom automated system problems for optimum utilization HR Metrics – Prepare and maintain HR Reporting on Cost per Hire; Turnover Rates by Region and company-wide year-over-year; Affirmative Action Improvement Tracking and Monitoring for assessing year-over-year performance; employee retention and service rates; etc. Leverage HR data and analytics to provide insights that drive decision-making and measure the impact of HR initiatives Work closely with Training team to identify specific employee training needs for career progression Indirectly responsible for product quality Other duties as assigned to provide support to the team Qualifications Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or related field is highly preferred 5+ years of equivalent/relevant HR generalist experience at the advanced level is required Human Resources Certification Preferred: PHR or SPHR 3+ years supervisory experience Knowledge of HR software’s such as Paycom is a plus Proven track record of influencing executive-level leaders and driving HR initiatives aligned to business strategy Demonstrated experience managing complex ER issues, compliance matters, and organizational restructuring. Compensation experience is preferred. Working knowledge of employment laws, regulatory compliance, benefits & compensation administration, payroll processes preferred, policy & procedure writing Excellent interpersonal, leadership skills, and people skills (relationship building). THE ROLE

Insomniac Events is currently seeking candidates for a Human Resources Intern. This position will provide direct support to the Human Resources team. This is a paid internship and is not a remote position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gain knowledge of corporate special event management and activity coordination, working alongside internal staff
  • Gain knowledge of corporate lunch and activity coordination
  • Research event venue locations for corporate sponsored events
  • Maintain annual social event budget and forecast with provided agendas when applicable
  • Constant exercise of project management skills with following corporate events
  • Brainstorm employee engagement opportunities
  • Shadow professional development and training opportunities related to time keeping & payroll, HRIS, recruiting & onboarding, employment law, employee relations, production HR, training & development, benefits
  • Brainstorm company-wide announcements and templates
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 18 years of age and currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school
  • Must be able to work out of Calabasas, CA office at least three days a week
  • Typical commitment is 18-29 hours per week
  • Must be motivated with an "Everything is possible" attitude
  • Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small
  • Knowledge of dance music and Insomniac's brands
WORK ENVIRONMENT
