Organization Overview

The Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen Foundation (LAAF.org) aims to be the leader in programs and resources at the intersection of women, giving and leadership. LAAF.org is an operating (non-grantmaking) foundation on a mission to inspire, educate and empower ALL individuals to give, live and lead in a way that matters more. We are a young, evolutionary organization that democratizes access to free, highest quality digital educational resources and LAAF.org Founders decades of experience as a social entrepreneur, philanthropic leader and Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) academic. Currently LAAF.org fuels programs and research on giving, women in leadership and intentionally inclusive leadership (Founders new model of Legacy Leadership). These initiatives include Stanford GSB courses and accompanying case studies, curricula and learning notes, The Legacy Leaders Speaker Series and additional leadership events, MOOCs, and other resources for givers and leaders at all stages.

Position Overview

LAAF.org is at an inflection point in its development as the organization introduces two new significant portfolios of work (women in leadership and intentionally inclusive leadership) and reframes its value proposition in the giving space (formerly strategic philanthropy). The Program Director of Women in Leadership and Inclusive Leadership Education (PDW) will play an important role in elevating the content and insights for and from Founders successful Stanford GSB Power of You: Women in Leadership course (over half of the MBA2 student body tried to enroll) as well as translating and disseminating that information to a diverse, global audience through multiple platforms. The PDW serves as the in-house subject matter expert (SME) on womens leadership and intentionally inclusive leadership, and will use their mastery of these areas to ensure LAAF.orgs voice, content and impact in these spaces inspire, educate and empower new generations of women and leaders globally. The PDW will also manage a Program Analyst dedicated to the women in leadership body of work, as well as a part-time research assistant. In addition, the PDW will work closely with and support Founder on content and research as she writes and launches a new book, and executes a strategic thought leadership plan inspired by LAAF.orgs women in leadership work.

Key responsibilities include:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing the Women in Leadership and Inclusive Leadership Education bodies of work and coordinating with the team to ensure the highest quality of content creation and execution
  • Working with Founder to serve as a thought partner to formulate content strategy for Founders Stanford GSB course, and execute against this strategy as Founder iterates on the course and produces related original content
  • Managing and mentoring a Program Analyst dedicated to the Women in Leadership portfolio of work and ensuring any work produced by the Program Analyst is of the highest quality before reaching Founder. The PDW will also oversee any work performed for the Inclusive Leadership body of work completed by the Program Analyst, Women in Leadership Education and/or the Program Analyst, Philanthropy Education
  • Conducting and overseeing original and existing research to uncover insights and proven tactics related to womens leadership development and intentionally inclusive leadership professionally, personally and philanthropically
  • Writing case studies, learning notes, lecture content and other learning materials in support of Founders Stanford GSB course, thought leadership platform and LAAF.org website
  • Supporting Founder in creation of undergraduate course on women in leadership and potential one-off workshops for both university students and female faculty members
  • Staying abreast of new research, findings, trends, challenges and public conversations about womens leadership and intentionally inclusive leadership, and using those insights to optimize LAAF.orgs work and Founders thought leadership in these spaces
  • Identifying new points of opportunity for LAAF.org to provide value by proposing new initiatives, processes and content to include in these portfolios of work

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Managing all LAAF.org and Founders incoming requests related to the program areas
  • Coordinating with the Digital Media Associate to develop and execute womens leadership- and intentionally inclusive leadership-themed digital campaigns. Experience writing and creating content for digital distribution is a plus!
  • Overseeing execution of The Legacy Leaders Speaker Series, LAAF.orgs event series elevating the leadership of women and leaders with unique perspectives who actualize values of intentional inclusivity and empowerment
  • Distributing LAAF.orgs biweekly email and social (Facebook Messenger) communication highlighting the latest news and insights related to the foundations mission and strategy
  • Developing scripts, key talking points and both short- and long-form content to support Founders and, if applicable Executive Directors, media appearances, speaking engagements, webinars, articles, original podcast and MOOC related to womens leadership development and intentionally inclusive leadership
  • Working closely with Program Associate, Philanthropy Education (PAP) to leverage shared findings, best practices and applications to elevate LAAF.orgs educational resources

Please note that the PDW role does not include grantmaking responsibilities because LAAF.org is not a grantmaking organization.

The ideal candidate has
  • A PhD, or Masters degree with significant field experience, in an area related to womens leadership development and/or intentionally inclusive leadership
  • A track record of academic excellence
  • At least 5-7 years of work experience (inclusive of doctoral work experience)
  • Leadership experience in mission-driven teams, projects or other groups
  • Demonstrated interest in education, womens leadership, intentionally inclusive leadership and related content development. Experience with curriculum development is a plus!
  • Experience developing, launching, managing, scaling and evaluating new programs, initiatives and/or products
  • Experience creating strategy, then developing strategic plans with clear projects, project plans and timelines as well as outcome measures to gauge success

We are seeking a Early Learning Support Specialist who assist with the implementation, operational oversight, planning, and reporting functions of the agency's Early Childhood Education (ECE) Resource Center including administrative and clerical support; will assist in researching resources and materials for provider support and assist in developing and implementing ECE Resource Center learning activities and professional development trainings, special events, outreach, and marketing. Role also includes the facilitation of Provider Wellness Cafes and working in partnership with agency leadership to implement First Friday Programming. All duties and responsibilities are performed in accordance with specific contractual obligations, contract compliance and department standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the day-to-day management, display, tracking, and reporting of ECE Resource Center activities, including the catalogue of resources.
  • Assist in ordering age and developmentally appropriate educational materials, resources, and supplies.
  • Conduct outreach and marketing activities to promote ECE Resource Center services and activities to internal/external stakeholders.
  • Research, develop, and implement learning activities that demonstrate developmentally appropriate best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned by R&R Leadership and/or Senior Management.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Child/Human Development, or related field, or equivalent, preferred. Associate's degree acceptable with relevant, verifiable work experience required.

  • Previous experience in early childhood education, child care or social services preferred, in direct services such as a center-based or family child care. Experience planning, implementing, and coordinating projects that require collaboration with diverse groups preferred. In addition to coordinating resources that are age and developmentally appropriate and promote early learning and child development activities and trainings.

Scope and Summary: The Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) serves several essential functions in the academic leadership of our schools. The LSC provides support to the school principal in the areas of data and assessment management, they provide support to classroom teachers through instructional coaching and resources gathering, and they provide support to students through pull-out and push-in intervention, meeting the needs of both academically challenged and gifted students. As a key team member on the school leadership team, the LSC will partner with the school principal and fellow staff to provide leadership and vision for the growth and advancement of student learning in their schools.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

School and System Leadership:

  • Articulate measurable school-wide student learning goals that are aligned to the Siena Catholic Schools (SCS) strategic plan and challenge the school to improve instructional practices in support of student success.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Academic Officer and other SCS leadership in the accreditation process and school-wide planning.
  • Participate as a key member of the School Leadership Team.
  • Collaborate with School Principal, School Counselor, and others as part of the school’s RtI process, including development of personalized learning plans, supporting referrals for IEP’s, 504’s, and other processes as necessary.
  • Participate in SCS LSC Meetings as directed.
  • Assist the Principal in the selection of students for Title programs and services and monitor student progress.
  • Facilitate staff, grade-level/department, and individual teacher meetings as directed by the Principal.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the School Principal.


Student Assessment and Data Analysis:

  • Ensure that data remains an essential part of all conversations related to student achievement, including an assurance that students (at all levels) and families maintain an awareness and understanding of current performance and growth targets.
  • Collaborate with the School Principal and school staff to schedule and implement all state, system, and school-based standardized assessments.
  • Analyze, disseminate, and interpret data to help form instructional practices.
  • Oversee the training of any individuals needed to serve as assessment proctors.
  • Create, and regularly update, the school’s physical student achievement data wall.
  • Provide on-going communication and progress reports to teachers and parents.
  • Develop communication tools to help parents understand student assessment results.
  • Report student achievement and building operational data to the Principal and Chief Academic Officer utilizing the SCS Digital Data Wall.


Instructional Support and Resource Specialist:

  • Provide instructional support and regular feedback to all faculty in support of school and student achievement goals.
  • Provide teachers summary reports of their students’ performance as well as instructional grouping ideas aligned to performance targets.
  • Meet with teachers to determine the instructional needs that specific groups of students have, curating resources to support high-quality classroom instruction.
  • Establish regular meetings with all new-to-Siena classroom teachers to provide extra support and to ensure the school’s literacy objectives are being met.
  • Coordinate appropriate intervention programs to ensure that the unique learning needs of our most challenged and gifted students are being met.


Intervention Support:

  • Develop and maintain a regular schedule of targeted pull-out academic interventions for students identified as in need of additional support.
  • Develop and maintain a regular schedule of push-in support to promote differentiation for all students in classroom settings.
  • Track academic progress of all students who receive accommodations and interventions to determine program effectiveness, communicating progress to parents electronically and during conference times.
  • Facilitate the execution of student personalized learning plans as identified through the school’s RtI process.


Qualifications:

  • Current Wisconsin Classroom Teacher Licensure required. A successful candidate will also either hold, or be in active pursuit of licensure as a Reading Teacher, Special Education Teacher, Reading Specialist, or Director of Instruction.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of classroom teaching practice with specifically defined teacher-leader or administrative leadership experiences.
  • Respect for the unique heritage of Catholic education in Racine and a desire and motivation to work with SCS leaders and member parishes to preserve and further enhance its legacy.
  • Highly effective communication skills with a specific ability to introduce, champion and support new concepts and build support and energy around collective vision and goals.
  • Experiences and abilities in the use of technology in the collection, analysis, and utilization of student performance and school operational data to inform instructional and operational decision making.
  • Willingness to work in collaboration with all faculty to create a powerful learning community that supports the development of students and staff alike.
