The Lab Technician will be part of the EDI Product Development team, based in Charlotte, NC, to support the overall success of the Dispersions business by developing new products in an industrial laboratory setting. The Dispersions business of BASF develops, produces, and markets a range of high-quality dispersions for a variety of industries, including coatings and paints, printing and packaging products, construction chemicals, adhesives, fiber bonding, nonwovens, and paper manufacturing.
The Lab Technician will work in an industrial laboratory and be responsible for operating the laboratory equipment to create quality prototype samples in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
This position will have the primary responsibility of supporting new product development in the Polymerization Laboratory. The job requires operating laboratory-scale emulsion polymerization reactors. It involves performing laboratory-scale synthesis according to recipes provided by scientists in the product development group. The technician will also ensure that the laboratory equipment and work environment remain operational, uncluttered, and safe. Experience in programming industrial process control systems, as well as experience in process automation and workflow optimization, is a plus.

Job Specification Faculty (Full-time and Adjunct):
Faculty members are responsible for the delivery of quality education services. This entails engaging students, fostering learning, role modeling professionalism, and ultimately producing competently trained students prepared for professional careers. This includes working with the Dean, Program Coordinators, and other campus faculty to ensure consistent and high quality delivery of assigned courses.
