The PLT Management Trainee (Supply Chain & Logistics Management Trainee) will learn the ins and outs of operating a plant which includes managing total plant operations, developing relationships with customers, driving results, and exceeding expectations in the key areas of safety, service, quality and cost.

The Pallet Leaders of Tomorrow (PLT) Program is 24-week rotational program that offers DoD SkillBridge interns looking to jump start their supply chain & logistics career into a position that is dynamic, exciting, and has unlimited potential. (You can start this 24-week program during a SkillBridge internship and finish it as an employee of 48Forty Solutions).

During this program, you'll have the opportunity to learn the business from the ground up starting day one! This includes repairing pallets, providing hands-on people leadership, managing the finances of the plant, shadowing sales and customer calls, and everything in between!

Description

Scotlynn seeks to fill a Logistics Coordinator located at our corporate office in Indianapolis, IN. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support and assistance to Logistics Account Managers for the daily operations of their accounts. This includes synchronizing and expediting route movement for shipping and receiving of freight, arranging pickup and delivery appointments, and creating and inspecting bills of lading (BOLS) to determine proper invoicing.

Responsibilities Include:

• Accepting customer loads upon approval of the Logistics Account Manager, building loads, booking loads, organizing loads and tracking loads
• Notifying customers of freight arrivals, pickups, movement, and deliveries
• Maintaining lines of communication with carriers, customers, shipping, and receiving facilities
• Data entry into fleet management system and online customer/vendor platforms
• Retaining records of purchase orders and various administrative or clerical support tasks
• Contacting customers, carriers, or distribution facilities to resolve problems or make adjustments as needed
• Continuously communicating with the Logistics Account Manager and trainee(s) to ensure proper maintenance of accounts

Training & Advancement

Those pursuing a Supply Corps Officer position are required to attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Newport, RI. OCS is a program that provides a comprehensive and intense introduction to the responsibilities of Navy Staff Corps Officers over the course of approximately three months. Here they learn about the military structure of the U.S. Navy, its rich history of traditions and customs, leadership development and military etiquette.

Once that training is complete, you will learn the ins and outs of life as a Supply Corps Officer through the following specialized training programs:

Navy Supply School (27 weeks) in Newport, RI, for training in inventory management, food and retail operations, leadership, management and problem solving.

Advanced Training

Advanced training for prospective Supply Corps Officers may also be available. This specialized training may cover subjects including transportation management, freight classifications, methods of working with civilian carriers and special handling of medical goods and explosives.

Promotion opportunities are regularly available but competitive and based on performance.

Post-Service Opportunities

It's also important to note that specialized training received and work experience gained in the course of service can lead to valuable credentialing and occupational opportunities in related fields like logistics and business management.

Qualifications & Requirements

To qualify for employment consideration as a Supply Corps Officer in the Navy, you must be a U.S. citizen, be qualified for sea duty and be willing to serve worldwide. Degrees in business, science, technology, engineering and mathematics are preferred but not required. A graduate degree is preferred by not required.

General qualifications may vary depending upon whether you're currently serving, whether you've served before or whether you've never served before.

Part-Time Opportunities

Serving part-time in the Navy Reserve, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Supply Corps Officers in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes. This gives you the flexibility to expand your profession in the Navy without compromising your civilian career at home.

For annual training, Supply Corps Officers may serve anywhere in the world, whether at sea or on shore stations at home and abroad.

Purpose

Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join their dynamic team in Indianapolis, Indiana, US . This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods from origin to destination, optimizing supply chain operations, and maintaining strong relationships with carriers and vendors. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics principles, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage complex shipping schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and track inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage inventory levels and warehouse operations to optimize space and efficiency.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and third-party logistics providers to secure the best possible terms.
• Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs forms, and invoices.
