JOB TITLE: Logistics Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Superintendent, Engineer
PAY RANGE: $25-$0/Hour DOE
SUMMARY
Responsible for the material needs of various projects to include special environmental requirements. Work active inventories for both purchased consumable material and any furnished from the customer. Utilize current consumption rates to provide forecasts to the customer on future material need and order consumables with lead time estimates to limit down time on the deck plate. Collaborate with the Engineer, Superintendent, or Project Managers, on material need for upcoming work and any other necessary aspects relating to material for each project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage active inventories across multiple projects.
- Facilitate furnished material transfer from the customer.
- Coordinate purchasing of project specific consumables.
- Create material related spreadsheets to support the Project Managers and Superintendents for each job.
- Work with Project Managers and Superintendents on the pre-planning of required material needs.
- Work with Engineers to ensure material storage areas have proper environmental capabilities.
- Submit weekly reports to Project Managers, Superintendents, or Engineering of material consumption rates to include material tracking spreadsheets,
- Manage and receive daily material requests from all Superintendents and submit material orders.
- Perform receipt inspection on all ordered materials to ensure the vendor complies with PO quantities and instructions.

About the Role
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for booking, generating BOLs, and tracing of all LTL, Volume, and Full loads moving inbound to the Span Terminals, direct to the ship or barge terminals. The position also assists with rates to both internal and external customers, as well as manages BOL corrections with LTL carriers.
What you'll do:
- Book all LTL, Volume and Full loads via OTR or intermodal service with our preferred carriers destined to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Guam.
- Provide tracking of all Span routed freight on a daily basis to ensure proper paperwork was used and consignee and billing information is correct.
- Work with customers and/or supplier to assign the correct NMFC to the BOL.
- Issue corrections direct with carriers on any miss-routed shipments.
- Work closely with our carriers, customers, and dispatch office to ensure sailing deadlines are met.
- Provide rate quotes on inbound shipments routed by Span Alaska.
- Work closely with the rate department to assist with quotes.
- Support consolidation process in Burbank, IL on a weekly basis.
- Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, including answering a high volume of phone calls and emails, as well as researching problems or responding to special requests as given.
- Assist with ship/barge audits on a weekly basis.
- Schedule southbound pickups as needed.
- Work well in a high speed, fast-paced office with patience and great attention to detail.
- Assist in other duties as requested

We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our Materials Supply Chain team. Reporting to the Manager, Materials Management, the Logistics Specialist is a remote role within these 5 markets: Austin, Denver, Boston, San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle. As a Logistics Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing logistics operations, ensuring the smooth flow of assets and ancillary materials across the supply chainto support data center deployments globally.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Coordinate all aspects of domestic and international shipments, including carrier selection, rate negotiation, and shipment scheduling to ensure on-time delivery.
- Prepare and process accurate shipping documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations and customs requirements.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
- Evaluate vendor performance and compliance with service level agreements.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, recommending improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and create reports, providing insights to leadership.
- Monitor inbound and outbound deliveries, providing regular updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless flow of materials and information.
- Address and resolve shipping and delivery issues.
- Assess and mitigate potential shipping risks, including delays, damage, or loss of goods, and develop appropriate contingency plans.
- Stay informed about global logistics trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
- Relevant certifications such as CLTD, CSCP would be a plus.
- Proficiency with ERP and logistics software.
- Strong understanding of international shipping regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to plan and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exposure to-or interest in-cloud services, data center, networking and various types of server technology would be a plus.
