To perform a variety of hand assembly and/or machine operations along with bending operations associated with the manufacturing of tubing bundles using diagrams and job order sheets for shipping product. Must complete any SPC and/or attribute charts as required. Set-up and operate cutting machine as per instruction from parts list, visually inspect hose for defects, and check inside diameter with correct gauging pins. Set-up and operate marking machine, perform work of an equal or lower classification and implement Lean Manufacturing as required for operational needs. Must be able to read and follow simple diagrams and specific written instruction.

Essential Duties

+ Secure proper types and quantities of tubing and fittings according to instructions on cut sheets and templates.

+ Set up and operate the cutter/marker, depth marking, ovens and cooling chamber to produce quality product.

+ Assemble proper fittings to tubing, exercising proper care to avoid excessive pressure on assembly devices. Tighten fittings as specified, avoiding crossing of threads.

+ Load reel into payout and string tubing through cutter according to cut sheet.

+ Set depth marking machines, checking the tolerance of distance between end of tube and depth mark using the vertical height cage.

+ Set up assemble tables by using mylar and retrieving head fixture assembling harness according to mylar template. Form tubing fixture using cut sheet for part number and training paper for correct part.

+ Perform work of an equal or lower classification, as required.

+ Must be able to read, write, understand English language

+ Add, subtract, and basic math operations.

+ Follow simple diagram and specific written instructions.

Position Summary

At our Ravenna production facility, we extrude non-latex polymer hoses and tubing for the aviation, construction, manufacturing, and energy sectors. In this role you will join our Hose Assembly Team to perform a variety of standardized operations to cut, process and assemble all sizes, lengths and types of thermoplastic hoses and appropriate connections. Set-up and operate cutting machine as per instruction from parts list, visually inspect hose for defects, and check inside diameter with correct gauging pins. Set-up and operate marking machine, perform work of an equal or lower classification and implement Lean Manufacturing as required for operational needs. Must be able to read and follow simple diagrams and specific written instruction.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Secure proper types and quantities of hoses and fittings from Warehouse according to instructions in job order sheet.
  • Set up and operate cut-off saw according to requirements set forth in job order sheet.
  • Perform ordinary setup on special purpose hose assembly machines involving selection and positioning of proper size mandrels, chuck jaws, blocks and special holding devices.
  • Assemble proper fittings to hose, exercising proper care to avoid excessive pressure on assembly devices. Tighten fittings as specified, avoiding crossing of threads.
  • Dip finished hoses in cleaning solution and blow dry with air jet.
  • Insert protective plastic caps on each end of hose and stamp part number if required.
  • Perform warehousing duties if required due to slowdown in assembly activities.
  • Perform work of an equal or lower classification, as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

•High school diploma or GED
•Must be able to read, write, understand English language
•Add, subtract, and basic math operations.
•Follow simple diagram and specific written instructions.
•Our manufacturing roles do have some minimum physical requirements; standing for 8+ hours, ability to wear PPE (safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, safety vests, and gloves),repetitive motions including use of hands to bend tubing & connect hose assemblies, sorting items by size shape and color, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and lifting, up to 45 pounds
