Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.Comply with all applicable safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to the Production Supervisor/Team Leader or appropriate resource.Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.Notify Production Supervisor/Team Leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.Receive, stock, pick, issue and deliver materials within performance guidelines to assure the satisfaction of internal and external customers.Perform routine duties such as, keeping packers and machine operators supplied with parts and material, and removing completed items to storage area or next workstation.Sort, weigh, coordinate materials and comply paperwork for creating purchase and work orders.Follow department schedules or instructions, make deliveries and pickups at workstations to maintain flow of work and prevent excessive accumulation of material in work areas.Remove packed items from conveyor, stack and pile on skid.Set up workstations and instruct operators regarding operation procedures and safety precautions when necessary.Operate forklift truck and notify supervisor regarding shortages.Pick up parts from assembly area and put to stock.Assist with cycle counts and stock control procedures.Maintain equipment including safety checks.Maintain a supply of equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.Meet established performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.Ensure that products meet nVent's quality specifications.Maintain accurate records and inventory balances.Perform rotational assignments as needed.Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.You have:Academic BackgroundHigh school diploma or G.E.DMinimum 1 year's production work experience preferred.Experience operating RF scanner and softwareComputer experience with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet. The pay range for this position is $17.55 - $6.30. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between 22.58 to 22.58. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.

What You'll Be Doing:- Operate forklifts during routine performance of duties
- Unload, receive, inspect, and stage raw materials, scrap dunnage, packaging materials, chemicals, and other supplies
- Remove finished products from the production areas, ensuring proper identification, banding, and labeling to meet customer specifications
- Responsible for replenishing supplies in assigned areas
- Review warehouse production control schedule to determine duties for shipping and receiving.
- Ensure finished goods are properly documented for shipment.
- Stage and load finished goods and materials in accordance with warehouse production control schedule.
- Coordinate all processed scrap material. Bands, weights, and stores materials. Loads trucks as necessary.
- Conduct inspection of and identifies routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Comply with established job safety practices, policies and procedures, as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
- Conduct pre-shift safety inspection.
- Stage unfinished goods (plate) in accordance with set procedure.
- Conduct inspection of materials used for packaging and inspects trailers and air bags.
- Prepare documentation for incoming and outgoing materials and finished goods.
- Maintain accurate files, records, and logs of incoming and outgoing materials.
- May develop and maintain efficient procedures for receiving incoming materials, stock storage location plan, stock storage allocation, first-in first-out (FIFO) material usage and product usage. Keeps current accounting of materials and finished goods.
- May coordinate with production planning manager to determine schedule information for warehouse operations.
- Access, input, and retrieve information from the computer.
- May coordinate with incoming and outgoing freight handlers to ensure efficient movement of materials and finished products through the plant.
- Communicate to responsible parties any machine malfunctions on assigned equipment.
- Communicate pertinent information to next shift.
- Perform clean-up, painting and housekeeping duties.
- Initiate, review and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your area of responsibility.
- Broad training in a related field usually acquired through high school education, General Education Development (GED), or through equivalent work experience
- Experience driving forklifts in a fast-paced production setting
- Possesses and must maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Requires on-the-job and classroom training to obtain forklift certification.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely in a production environment complying with all safety and PPE rules and guidelines.
- Must wear appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices.
- Working knowledge of the following areas:
- Forklift maintenance and operations
- Rules and regulations for handling batteries and LP gas tanks
- All assigned equipment
- The use of banders, stretch wrappers, and other packaging processes as required
