  • Material Handling: Manage and kit parts for the manufacturing team to minimize lost production time and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Oversee the handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring seamless transit of goods.
  • Production Line Support: Ensure the precise and timely supply of parts for production lines.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory checks and cycle counts to maintain comprehensive and accurate stock records.
  • Customer Service: Collaborate effectively with vendors and truck drivers to facilitate smooth operations.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in material handling and parts kitting.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to material management.
  • Forklift operation experience is preferred; certification available.
  • CDL certification is a big plus.

The estimated pay range for this position is $20-22. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location. The Material Handler is responsible for creating a safe and organized work environment that allows for the efficient flow of materials and products into and out of the organization. The Material Handler store and issue materials as needed for efficient product production. The individual in this role is detail oriented to ensure products are shipped and received according to bill of lading and packing slips. This position collaborates with management and manufacturing personnel ensuring excellent products to the customer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the major functions of this position and are not intended to be a detailed description of all the work/functions that may be required. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Examine shipment contents within 24 hours of receipt and compare them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
  • Record shipment data with 98% accuracy (such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies) for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
  • Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter. Ensure 98% accuracy.
  • Deliver or route materials to departments using hand trucks, forklift or sorting bins while ensuring all safety standards are met 100%.
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain weekly inventory of stock.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock weekly and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors. Determine a plan of action to prevent discrepancies and determine necessary training to prevent future errors.
  • Keep record of and dispose of damaged or defective items or return them to vendors within 48 hours.
  • Daily clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Immediately report any safety concerns.
  • Daily prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued.
  • Conduct daily forklift and hand tool maintenance checks. Request maintenance and retraining as needed to ensure safe driving and operation of forklifts.
  • Safely and efficiently create a work environment that enables an efficient flow of materials and products into and out of the facility. Responsible for performing all work tasks in a safe manner and in accordance with organizational safety policies and requesting maintenance as needed.
  • Required to be a team player and collaborate with various departments to meet customer satisfaction.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

  • Knowledge of ERP system, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, outlook and excel), preferred.
