+ Keep all manufacturing lines up and running and assist manufacturing and engineering teams with problems relating to packaged product quality and machine safety, including use of lock out / tag out procedures.
+ Support maintenance of facility & grounds equipment & building security systems.
+ Follow all prescribed safety/housekeeping practices and procedures. Perform 6-S activities and improvements as required.
+ Maintain spare parts inventory & replenishment, including hand tools, power tools and perishable supplies inventory and replenish as needed.
+ Perform proactive walk throughs to identify looming problems to schedule and perform repairs.
+ Identify and tag safety hazards on machinery and in work area.
+ Track machine downtime per shift in support or machine maintenance projects.
+ Work with other team members and participates in team events and meetings.

+ Read and understand Electrical schematics and how they control and operate machinery
+ Familiarity with electrical components operation and functionality: Drives, power supplies, amplifiers, transformers, contactors, relays, capacitors, resistors, automatic switches including reed, limit, positive negative positive, negative positive negative, photoelectric components, with the ability to trouble shoot electrical circuits by performing resistance, current, voltage measurements.
+ Read and understand pneumatic diagrams and how they operate associated components
+ Troubleshoot pneumatic circuits and a working knowledge of principles and functionality of valves, valve manifolds, pressure switches, linear and rotary actuators, flow controls, air preparation equipment with the ability to trouble shoot & repair
+ Read and understand mechanical drawings and diagrams including assembly and part drawings
+ Perform mechanical assembly, alignment and disassembly of moderate complexity with ability to self-establish appropriate sequence of assembly
+ Use hand measuring tools such as micrometer, caliper, gauge pins, feeler gauges to verify fit and function for assembly/repair and to support performing mechanical troubleshooting
+ Make simple sketches of required fixes/modification to communicate with engineering and outside vendors

Description

Objective: The Mechanical Systems Assembler puts together liquid handling and fluid purification products. This person will perform mechanical assembly, piping, electrical wiring, and testing functions following both blueprint and verbal instructions.

Accountable For:

  • Assembling liquid handling, fluid purification, and control panel components (i.e., pumps, meters, reels, filters), parts (i.e., fittings, tubing, switches), and controls (i.e., electrical enclosures, terminals, circuits) to fabricate a complete system onto a frame, skid, or other platform.
  • Maintaining and using hand tools (powered and non-powered) for assembly purposes.
  • Testing systems following QC forms to the level of quality needed and making any necessary adjustments.
  • Performing all job functions using safe practices.
Requirements
  • Education / Work Experience: High school diploma or GED. Trade school coursework is a plus. Experience with metal fabrication and standard wiring processes is a plus.
  • Experience and comfortability with hand / power tools.
  • Working knowledge of shop math and ability to use measuring tools.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Experience with reading blueprints is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation and availability to work required schedule.

**Essential Functions:**
+ Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
+ Interact with equipment operators in a professional and courteous manner.
+ Follow established schedules to ensure equipment and systems are functioning optimally.
+ Perform tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment and facilities.
+ Assist with minor repairs, including fixing plumbing, electrical, or HVAC issues.
+ Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered.

**Qualifications:**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of education
+ 4+ years' maintenance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
+ Working knowledge of single and three phase electrical equipment. DC, PLC and schematic abilities a plus
+ Hydraulic and Mechanical knowledge is a plus
+ General construction knowledge (i.e. plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
+ Certified forklift operator or ability to become certified
+ Respirator certified or ability to become certified
+ Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic maintenance issues.
+ Basic conceptual understanding of mechanical operations
+ EPA 608 certification a plus
+ Bi-lingual is a plus

**Job Title: Maintenance Technician**
**Job Description**
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the proper functioning of plant equipment. You will follow standard work practices and procedures, including hot work permits, proper startup and shutdown processes, confined space policies, Lockout Tagout procedures, Critical Safety Rules, and more.
**Responsibilities**
+ Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
+ Complete work orders in the computer system.
+ Lookup crib parts in the computer on SAP, sign parts out properly, and pass on jobs in an orderly fashion.
+ Perform minor electrical work as needed with proper training, such as unwiring and rewiring direct replacement parts like valves, photo eyes, and small motors.
+ Rebuild pumps and change mechanical seals, troubleshoot and repair extrusion vacuum loading systems.
+ Apply knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic valves on machinery including Punch Presses and Extruders.
+ Rebuild and change blades on granulators and blowers, install coating rolls and nip rolls, use micrometers and other measuring tools, bore and broach gears and sprockets, machine and fabricate parts to tight tolerances, and weld with MIG and arc welding machines.
+ Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, including Punch Presses and Extruders, conduct hoist inspections, replace and align motors, unjam scrap lines, change cyclone and baler filters, and perform pipefitting.
+ Comply with all plant rules, safety rules, GMP and PPE guidelines, and department work instructions.
+ Work as directed by the Department Supervisor and assigned by shift Lead.
+ Perform housekeeping duties and practice good housekeeping after all jobs.
+ Understand roles and actions for plant emergency response.
+ Gain knowledge of asbestos locations and radioactive devices in the plant and their proper handling.
+ Know the domestic water system and main gas shutoff locations.
+ Any and all other duties as assigned.

This is a Permanent position based out of Wheeling, Illinois.
