**Responsibilities:**
+ Attends routine meetings with staff to communicate procedural changes to improve service quality and patient safety.
+ Participates in implementation of department goals, processes and procedures. Assists with orientation of new staff members.

+ Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information. Complete forms/requisitions as needed. Schedule appointments. Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics.
+ Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment according to department protocol, room patients and prepare for examination.
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Medical Assistant certification from a national certifying organization (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, or NHA), or successful completion of Medical Assistant program, or graduated from an LPN, RN, or EMT/Paramedics program (must have received & maintained certification if EMT).
+ Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room responsibilities.

+ Provides diversional activities to reduce or prevent use of restraints.
+ Documents in the medical record according to established procedures.
+ Completes clerical functions as needed by department.
