Job Summary:

Responsible for the delivery of consulting services in areas of key organizational importance. Provides leadership for the delivery of high quality and cost-effective consulting services/products that are issues of key organizational importance. Partners with Medical Center leadership teams and departments to support effectiveness of local programs in order for leadership to meet key organizational initiatives. Supports leadership in attaining organizational goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership and expert consultation on the design, development, and implementation of programs related to the expertise area. Serves as the content expert of the responsible technical area(s) and provides technical assistance and advice.


• Leads a group of consultants, analysts and/or staff focused on the delivery of service/products within the responsible technical area(s). Provides leadership and direction for the technical area(s) in accordance with the overall strategic direction of the group.


• Develops standards, procedures, and policies to ensure that the responsible unit is maintained according to the acceptable level of quality from clients.


• Ensures that reports and information disseminated from the area(s) are accurate, timely and consistent, and that they satisfy the clients needs.

Secondary Functions:

• This position is part of the Patient Care Services Clinical Nurse Specialist Fellowship Program. KP will provide the incumbent 100% tuition coverage at CSU Dominguez Hills. Incumbent will be given 16 hours a pay period to focus on their studies while school is in session. Incumbent will be placed with a KP CNS preceptor at a different facility from their home medical center for their 500 clinical hours. Incumbent will be moved into a Clinical Nurse Specialist position upon completion of their MSN CNS degree program. Incumbent must maintain good standing passing all required courses and progress through the CNS program without academic leaves of absence at CSU Dominguez Hills to maintain employment as a CPC/Fellow. Travel to CSU Dominguez Hills and to other KP Facilities during the program will be required. Fellow will be responsible for any fees related to their education outside of tuition; this includes travel to CSUDH at least twice during their program. Additional details and program requirements will be provided upon hire

What you can expect:

• Direct Patient Care. Spend much of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment. Our PCTs care for up to 4 patients at a time.
• Technician Duties. To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.

Job Description 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet incoming patients upon entering the practice and complete the check-in process.
• Administrative duties included answering telephones, scheduling patient appointments per doctor preferences, and transcribing messages for return calls and faxes.
• Obtain and verify insurance eligibility for all applicable patients. Responsible for auditing and editing insurance claims as needed.
• Scanning and entering routing slips and other documents into EHR
• Confirm all appointments for the following day and reschedule no-show appointments. Also, utilize the practice's recall system.
• Pull and prepare charts for all patients scheduled for the following day.
• Processing sales of contact lenses through phone calls or doctor transitions.
