Job Description
We're seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Merchandise Planner to support our client during a key transitional period. This is a hands-on, interim role ideal for someone with strong Excel skills and a background in inventory planning, supply chain operations, or merchandising analytics. You'll work closely with the Planning Manager, buying team, and cross-functional partners to ensure optimal inventory flow, accurate forecasting, and actionable insights that support business growth. The Merchandise Planner must have strong Excel skills, prior experience with analysis and forecasting. This is an onsite opportunity, located in central Las Vegas.
Responsibilities:
+ Partner with Planning and Buying teams to monitor inventory levels, identify risks, and support open-to-buy (OTB) management.
+ Analyze product availability and stock performance across multiple locations to ensure optimal in-store presence.
+ Develop and maintain forecasting models, replenishment parameters, and vendor order schedules.
+ Support new store openings and category expansions with tailored inventory and assortment plans.
+ Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies in orders, invoices, and compliance issues.
+ Utilize tools for analysis and Excel (including pivot tables) to generate reports and insights.
+ Recommend improvements to assortment strategies, stock turns, and replenishment processes.
+ Conduct post-launch reviews of new initiatives and adjust inventory strategies accordingly.
Requirements
+ 5+years of experience in inventory management, supply chain analysis, or related fields.
+ Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis functions.
+ Experience with cloud-based ERP systems.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
+ Familiarity with international operations and multi-entity accounting is a plus.

- Build financial plans in accordance with merchandise strategies to maximize profitability.
- Drive in season decision making to achieve financial and strategic targets.
- Manage inventory health, open-to-buy, item-level forecasting, and assortment planning.
- Optimize sales and inventory productivity through analysis and plans that drive high impact decision making.
- Forecast financials and related operational metrics.
- Manage reporting, driving a high standard for analytical excellence.
- Develop price reduction and exit recommendations with pricing team.
Other Responsibilities:
- Brainstorm and develop projects that improve the efficiency of buying/planning systems, processes and procedures.
- Partake in A/B testing of new tools and maintain owner mindset to deliver constructive feedback

Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of with Excel experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 4+ years of professional or military experience
- 4+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
- Experience in Retail or wholesale business
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control
- Experience managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem solving, and communicating recommendations
