The occupational therapy assistant performs patient related activities. The 108-bed facility provides specialized services that include skilled nursing and restorative care services for chronically disabled and medically complex residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Within standards of practice established for COTAs and PTA's, completes and documents assessments, establishing objective, achievable and measurable long and short term goals.

• Implements treatment programs individualized to the patients needs and discharge plan; issues and provides instruction in the use of adaptive equipment; document’s patient response to treatment according to department policy. Communicates directly to therapist regarding patient’s plan of care, concerns or any observed changes in medical status.
