Responsibilities
+ Answer incoming phone calls and direct them appropriately.
+ Schedule patient appointments efficiently.
+ Process prior authorizations for patient care.
+ Room patients and prepare them for their visit with the doctor.
+ Address patient messages and inquiries.
+ Assist with medication refills and same-day requests.
+ Work closely with a single assigned doctor to manage patient volume of 15-20 patients per day.
Essential Skills
+ Strong customer service abilities.
+ Proficient data entry skills.
+ Experience handling patient information with confidentiality.
+ Excellent communication skills.
+ Familiarity with common medications and their uses.
+ Clerical and insurance knowledge.
+ Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), preferably EPIC.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is helpful.
+ Medical Assistant Diploma required.
+ Professional appearance in compliance with neutral standards.
Work Environment
The position offers a flexible schedule between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, totaling 40 hours per week. The practice is located in Guilford and provides a blend of clinical and administrative experiences. The work environment is professional yet family-oriented, ensuring a supportive atmosphere for both staff and patients.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
