**Responsibilities:**
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Assists pharmacy staff with general duties and provides support to pharmacy technicians and pharmacists. Maintains and replenishes inventory of medications and supplies and is responsible for general cleaning and tiding of the main pharmacy area. Organizes and sends medications (excluding controlled substances) to the patient care units. Answers and triages phone calls of a general nature, and forwards calls to pharmacist or technician when needed.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Organizes and sends medications to patient care units utilizing the pneumatic tube delivery system, ensuring medications are delivered to the correct location and in a timely manner, where medication requiring verification by a pharmacist will not be sent until verification is complete. Hand delivers medications to patient care units as requested by pharmacy technicians or pharmacists, including medications that cannot be sent via the tube system due to stability concerns or medications are needed STAT.
+ Maintains and replenishes inventory of medications and supplies in the main pharmacy area to ensure availability as needed by pharmacy staff. Returns inventory to stock when it is returned from patient care units or other areas of the hospital. Ensures all returned stock is still within its expiration date and the label matches the products stored in that location.
+ Assists pharmacy staff with triaging general phone calls. Forwards calls requiring the knowledge and judgement of pharmacists or technicians to the correct individual. Answers phone or other inquiries of a general nature that do not require a pharmacist or technician. Provides proper service recovery communications and actions as needed. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
+ Tidies and organizes main pharmacy area to maintain a neat and efficient work environment. Offers ideas and recommendations for increased efficiency of processes in the main pharmacy.

**Responsibilities:**
Assists pharmacy staff with general duties and provides support to pharmacy technicians and pharmacists. Maintains and replenishes inventory of medications and supplies and is responsible for general cleaning and tiding of the main pharmacy area. Organizes and sends medications (excluding controlled substances) to the patient care units. Answers and triages phone calls of a general nature, and forwards calls to pharmacist or technician when needed.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organizing and sending medications to the patient care units utilizing the pneumatic tube delivery system, assuring that medications are delivered to the correct location and in a timely manner. Any medication requiring verification by a pharmacist will not be sent until verification is complete.
- Hand delivering medications to the patient care units as requested by pharmacy technicians or pharmacists. These will typically include medications that cannot be sent via the tube system due to stability concerns, or medications that are needed STAT.
- The assistant is not allowed to handle or deliver controlled substances to the patient care areas.
- This individual will maintain and replenish inventory of medications and supplies in the main pharmacy area to assure they are available as needed by pharmacy staff.
- Return inventory to stock when it is returned from patient care units or other areas of the hospital. The individual will assure that all returned stock is still within its expiration date and that the label matches the products that are stored in that location.
- Assist pharmacy staff with triaging general phone calls. Calls requiring the knowledge and judgement of pharmacists or technicians must be forwarded to the correct individual.
- Answering phone or other inquiries of a general nature (not requiring a pharmacist or technician).
- Application of proper service recovery communications and actions as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- General tidying and organizing of the main pharmacy area to maintain a neat and efficient work environment.
- Offering ideas and recommendations for increased efficiency of processes in the main pharmacy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Basic understanding of computers and data entry, excellent customer service and communication skills, and excellent attention to detail all required

The Pharmacy Assistant will work in a fast-paced production environment known as an automated refill center. This role involves performing various warehouse operations such as packing prescriptions, receiving, and shipping. The candidate will maintain a continuous and consistent workflow to meet daily production goals and should have the ability to work productively either independently or as part of a team, with acute attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks. The role requires understanding and adhering to federal and state HIPAA laws as well as pharmacy standard procedures to ensure patient safety and privacy. The candidate must demonstrate problem resolution skills, the ability to recognize, address, and escalate issues to management.
Responsibilities
+ Process orders for shipping
+ Fold and pack paperwork with prescriptions to prepare for shipping
+ Sort orders by store location and place in totes for shipping
+ Load product into trucks
+ Comply with policies, procedures, and SOPs

Essential Skills
+ Pharmacy Assistant certification (WA state requirement)

Work Environment
The work environment is an automated refill center where the candidate will not interact with customers or insurance companies. The candidate must live within a reasonable driving distance of SW Everett, WA. The work schedule is Monday to Thursday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM and Friday from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The role requires standing/walking for the majority of the shift, and the candidate must be agreeable to mandatory overtime, typically up to 1 hour. Reliable transportation is required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.95 - $20.95/hr.
