In the context of Air Force medicine, BOMC stands for Base Operational Medicine Clinic.It's a clinic that focuses on occupational medicine and medical readiness for active duty personnel, handling tasks like physical exams, medical clearances, andmedical standards management. It's independent from Family Medicine, which provides primary care for a broader population including family members and retirees.
CORE Duties:
Provide a full range of Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the facility (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
Technically direct and provide care for a variety of diseases and types of injuries (i.e., acute, chronic and minor trauma), and the skills to recognize emergency conditions in order to diagnose, prescribe for and treat diseases, disorders and injuries, and refer the more complex cases and serious conditions to qualified medical personnel and perform designated treatment.
Technically direct and teach other staff, provide educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members.
Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
Prescribe in accordance with approved treatment protocols and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee approved medications and immunizations.

Establish collaborative rapport with physician, nursing and others in order to promote and facilitate primary care services.

The APC within SCC provides care to our highest-risk health plan members and is part of an interdisciplinary team.

No on-call, no weekends, and no holidays required. This position requires travel through the state of **Florida** .
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Provide clinical coverage for the primary APC during periods of PTO or short/long term absences
+ Manage members through an acute medical situation or an exacerbation of a chronic condition, including testing, diagnostics, and interventions
+ Manage members during a short term, sub-acute rehabilitation episode
+ Conduct comprehensive, monthly/routine, and/or acute care visit assessments
+ Effectively manage acute and chronic medical and behavioral conditions
+ Ensure accurate and complete documentation, including ICD 10 conditions
+ Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
+ Conduct advanced illness and advanced care planning conversations
+ Provide patients and caregivers with counseling and education

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Active and unrestricted license in the state of Florida or ability to obtain by start date
+ Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant through a national board
+ For NPs: Graduate of an accredited master's degree in Nursing (MSN) program and board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (AG AC NP), Adult/Family or Gerontology Nurse Practitioners (ACNP), with preferred certification as ANP, FNP, or GNP
+ For PAs: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program and currently board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
+ Current, active DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations (unless prohibited in state of practice)
+ 1+ years of hands-on post grad experience (long-term care setting preferred)
+ Ability to complete physical requirements of the job including lifting a 30-pound bag in and out of the car, navigating stairs and a variety of dwelling conditions, and sit, stand, and kneel to perform physical assessment
+ Driver's License and access to reliable transportation
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience in meeting the medical needs of patients with complex behavioral, social, and/or functional skills
+ Understanding of Geriatrics and Chronic Illness
+ Understanding of Advanced Illness and end of life discussions
+ Proficient computer skills including the ability to document medical information with written and electronic medical records
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). **Responsibilities**
The Department of Family Medicine is seeking a qualified Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at the Gate Parkway location. This position offers a unique opportunity to support the practice.
The Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Mayo Clinic also may perform the following tasks in any authorized setting:
+ Obtaining patient history
+ Performing physical examinations
+ Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
+ Formulating a diagnostic impression
+ Developing and implementing a treatment plan

**Qualifications**
