In the context of Air Force medicine, BOMC stands for Base Operational Medicine Clinic.It's a clinic that focuses on occupational medicine and medical readiness for active duty personnel, handling tasks like physical exams, medical clearances, andmedical standards management. It's independent from Family Medicine, which provides primary care for a broader population including family members and retirees.
CORE Duties:
Provide a full range of Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the facility (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).

Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
Prescribe in accordance with approved treatment protocols and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee approved medications and immunizations.
Identify a medical problem and determine appropriate action to meet the problem, including referral to a physician.
Perform specific diagnostic and therapeutic practices and procedures in accordance with scope of practice.
Establish collaborative rapport with physician, nursing and others in order to promote and facilitate primary care services.
Teach patients and family member's healthy regimen and responsibility for achieving wellness.
Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement.
Participate in peer review process.
Conduct special evaluations, including but not limited to Physical Health Assessment (PHA), Service History Physical Exams Separation History and Physical Examination (SHPE) related health assessment for non-flying and sister service personnel assigned to the medical facility.
Reviews medical documentation provided to determine if AD member is qualified for retraining, Special Duty, CONUS & OCONUS assignments and annual review-in-Lieu of MEB support that complies with applicable Department of Defense and Air Force policy and guidance.
Work Schedule:
Work schedule shall be between7:00am - 5:00pm Monday-Fridayto include a one-hour uncompensated meal break as determined by the clinical department.

Minimum Qualifications:

**Responsibilities**
The Department of Family Medicine is seeking a qualified Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at the Gate Parkway location. This position offers a unique opportunity to support the practice.
The Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Mayo Clinic also may perform the following tasks in any authorized setting:

**Qualifications**
**Family Nurse Practitioner:** Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP.
**Physician Assistant:** Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
**Additional Qualifications:**
+ Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date.
