+ Varian TrueBeam: Advanced imaging and motion management for accurate tumor targeting, utilizing techniques like IGRT, VMAT, and HyperArc for High-Definition Radiotherapy.
+ Varian HyperArc: A specialized stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) system for treating brain metastases with submillimeter precision and enhanced speed.
+ Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT): Targeted, high-dose treatments for tumors using a specialized coordinate system.
+ Elekta Flexitron Afterloader for HDR Brachytherapy: Radioactive seed placement for precise tumor treatment.
+ Eclipse with Aria Record and Verify: Advanced treatment planning systems for IMRT, VMAT, and 3D planning.
**About the Role:**
This role is vital for ensuring continuity of care for patients and will involve:
+ Conducting follow-up visits to monitor patient progress and manage ongoing care plans.
+ Performing pre-treatment and post-treatment consultations to optimize patient outcomes.
+ Educating patients and families about radiation therapy and managing symptoms or side effects.
+ Collaborating closely with Radiation Oncologists and the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best clinical outcomes.
+ Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, performing relevant procedures, and documenting care within the scope of licensure.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Provide direct care services, including obtaining patient histories, conducting focused physical exams, and developing treatment plans.
+ Deliver health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management to radiation oncology patients.
+ Act as a patient advocate, ensuring culturally sensitive, patient-centered care.
+ Work collaboratively with physicians and other care team members to meet the unique needs of oncology patients.
**Schedule**
+ Monday - Friday: hours depending on provider role assigned must have flexibility
+ Treatment or Brachytherapy shifts could be 10+ hours
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a medical provider who treats, diagnoses, prescribes, and/or performs or assists in surgical procedures. APPs are licensed healthcare professionals, credentialed and privileged through the Medical Staff Office. APPs work collaboratively with physicians and the care team in all areas of the hospital and clinics to create a seamless environment of care. APPs are highly knowledgeable and serve as an essential part of the development and implementation of patients' care. The APP develops protocols for care, as appropriate, serves as a health care researcher, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
- If licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), (State of Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Title 16, sub chapter 14, Hawaii Revised Statues.):
o The APRN functions as an expert practitioner with educator consultant, researcher and leadership role components and functions autonomously and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to enhance the quality of nursing practice and patient care.
o Provides health care that includes services to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention, and diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. Direct care services may include, but are not limited to, obtaining a patient history, providing a complete or focused physical examination, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, performing procedures, patient and family education, and managing social, economic and ethical issues within the scope of a health care provider. Indirect patient care services may include, but are limited to setting standards for nursing practice and facilitating the professional practice of nursing care at the bedside.
- If licensed as Physician Assistant (PA) (State of Hawaii Administrative Rules Chapter 85, Subchapter 6):
o A PA is an individual who has been certified by the board to practice medicine with physician supervision. A PA may perform those duties and responsibilities delegated by the supervising physician.
o Under the supervision of a Physician, the PA functions as an expert practitioner. The PA provides health care that includes services to individuals and families, which includes health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic disease. Direct care services may include, but is not limited to, obtaining patient histories, providing a complete or focused physical examination, ordering, conducting, and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, various diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures; and performing procedures, etc., within scope of practice and licensure. The PA also provides patient and family education, and management of social, economic, and ethical issues within the scope of the health care provider.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
- Continuous: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
- Frequent: walking.
- Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
- May be exposed to communicable disease and body fluids, and chemicals.
- May be required to deal with hostile patients and/or families.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- Current Hawaii State license as an APRN or Physician Assistant in good standing
- If licensed as an APRN, current board certification in one (1) of the following:
o Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
o Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP)
o Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP)
o Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP)
o Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
o Adult Geriatric Acute Car Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP)
o Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
o Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACNS)
o Adult Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (AGCNS)
- If licensed as an APRN, prescriptive authority for non-controlled substances is required.
- Depending on area of assignment, prescriptive authority for controlled substances may be required.
- Depending on area of assignment, additional certification(s) may be required.
- Credentialing and privileging required.
- Current BLS certification.
B. EXPERIENCE:
- If licensed as an APRN, two (2) years nursing experience or successful completion of an APRN Fellowship Program for any APRN position.
- One (1) year of clinical experience working as an APRN or Physician Assistant preferred.
- One (1) year Radiation Oncology experience preferred as an APRN or Physician Assistant.

What You Will Be Doing:
+ Serve as the Physician match reviewer in Radiation Oncology and imaging cases, that do not initially meet the applicable medical necessity guidelines, as well as other imaging requests when providers, clients, or state laws require specialty reviews to be completed by the subject matter expert.
+ Discusses determinations (peer to peer phone calls) with requesting physicians or ordering providers, when available, within the regulatory timeframe of the request and provides clinical rationale for standard and expedited appeals.
+ Utilizes medical/clinical review guidelines and parameters to assure consistency in the MD review process to reflect appropriate utilization and compliance with SBU`s policies/procedures, as well as Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) guidelines.
+ Aids and acts as a resource to Initial Clinical Reviewers.
+ Ensures documentation of all communications with medical office staff and/or MD provider is recorded in a timely and accurate manner.
+ May assist the Senior Medical Director in research activities/questions related to the Utilization Management process, interpretation, guidelines and/or system support.
+ Participates in on-going training per inter-rater reliability process.
Qualifications-
+ MD/DO/MBBS
+ Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the practice of Medicine, post residency and Active Clinical practice within the last 2 years is preferred
+ Current, unrestricted clinical license in medicine or required specialty-
+ Obtaining and maintaining medical licenses in the state you reside, as well as, any license required per business needs
+ Active Board Certification in Radiation Oncology
+ Strong clinical, management, communication, and organizational skills

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by physicians, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety. The Radiation Therapist will work closely with medical professionals to follow patient's treatment plans.
**Department Overview:**
The Radiation Oncology Program is accredited by the American College of Radiology. The area includes, two linear accelerators, CT simulator, High Dose Rate brachytherapy unit, exam rooms, patient waiting area and office.
The program provides care to cancer patients of all ages who will benefit from radiation therapy. Nearly half of all patients treated have breast, lung or prostate cancer as their primary diagnosis.
The majority of radiation therapy patients are ambulatory and self-supportive. At the same time, we treat many inpatients who require intensive monitoring and services. Sedation/analgesia care provided as needed. The scope of care include: external beam radiation with intensive monitoring therapy, low and high dose rate brachytherapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery and total body irradiation.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
A. Education/Certification and Licensure:
1.Current Hawaii State license as a Radiation Therapist.
2.Current certification in CPR at Healthcare Professional level.
B. Experience:
1. Experience as Radiation Therapist preferred.
**Typical Physical Demands:**

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by physicians, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety. The Radiation Therapist will work closely with medical professionals to follow patient's treatment plans.
**Department Overview:**
The Radiation Oncology Program is accredited by the American College of Radiology. The area includes, two linear accelerators, CT simulator, High Dose Rate brachytherapy unit, exam rooms, patient waiting area and office.
The program provides care to cancer patients of all ages who will benefit from radiation therapy. Nearly half of all patients treated have breast, lung or prostate cancer as their primary diagnosis.
The majority of radiation therapy patients are ambulatory and self-supportive. At the same time, we treat many inpatients who require intensive monitoring and services. Sedation/analgesia care provided as needed. The scope of care include: external beam radiation with intensive monitoring therapy, low and high dose rate brachytherapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery and total body irradiation.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
A. Education/Certification and Licensure:
1.Current Hawaii State license as a Radiation Therapist.
2.Current certification in CPR at Healthcare Professional level.
B. Experience:
1. Experience as Radiation Therapist preferred.
**Typical Physical Demands:**
Essential: standing, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting usual weight of 5 pounds up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling weight up to 10 pounds, reaching above shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions. Continuous: carrying usual weight of 5 pounds. Frequent: stooping/bending, gripping of an object for prolonged periods. Operates linear accelerators, simulators, computer, calculator, blood irradiator.
**Typical Working Conditions:**
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Exposure to radiation, body fluids, communicable diseases and mechanical/electrical units. Work environment is very fast paced.
