**Job Summary**
The Receiving Clerk will maintain inventory of controlled materials and gowning supplies. This person will maintain records and track GMP materials required for various client projects under the guidance of the Associate Director Materials Management. They will also interact with Charles River Laboratories raw material suppliers and manufacturers and request required documentation for GMP materials release.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
* Assist in receiving of controlled materials following established procedures. Ensure all materials are received and stored in controlled materials storage locations to ensure cGMP compliance.
* Check and maintain sufficient inventory of common materials required at Rockville and submit request in ordering system if inventory is low.
* Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in daily activities.
* Complete (MSD's) and (MOS) or any other QC required forms
* Track overdue materials and component shortages for various client projects in BOM excel sheet and work with purchasing to successfully resolve the documentation required and request Certificates or any other required documentation with Charles River Laboratories suppliers.
* Serve as a contributor to cross-functional project teams for problem solving issues within the supply chain operations.
* Review multiple data inputs and understand how to actively support digitization through the implementation of automation with the use of industry specific tools (including Microsoft Excel and Access).
* Effectively utilize key processes and tools (i.e. BOM excel sheet for Projects) to pull data in order to build a deeper understanding of our operations.
* Work on mini projects assigned in supply chain department (e.g., tracking of materials, numbering of shelves for GMP materials storage)
* Drive Charles River Laboratories truck and transport GMP materials between sites.

**Job Qualifications**
* High School Diploma required with some GMP experience preferred
* MUST possess a valid driver's license (non CDL)
* Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
* Must be able to drive company vehicle between sites in the Rockville area with valid driver's license and will sometimes also need an alternative reliable mode of transportation to travel between sites in the Rockville area
* Must regularly operate a computer and occasionally operate other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
* Must regularly communicate with employees and suppliers; must be able to exchange accurate information

Compensation Data

**What you'll do:**
This position will perform a wide range of skills which include unloading/loading trucks, receiving and putting away material, operating a forklift to safely retrieve parts and materials out of racks and supply them to the assembly lines and preparing product for shipment. This **Inventory Control Specialist** will performs inventory control tasks associated with tracking and accounting for all materials on the production floor. Uses powered industrial equipment, such as forklifts and turret trucks, to assist with material movements, cycle counting, inventory issue resolution, and product discards. Must be fluent in excel, and master data ERP data systems (Oracle knowledge is a plus).
**SUPERVISION EXERCISED**
Working directly with Operations supervisors, material handlers, Quality control and warehouse operators.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Responsible for managing the counts and reviewing inventory issues and taking the lead with root cause analysis to prevent those issues from reoccurring. Will proactively advise Team Leads, Supervisors and Managers of inventory trends and provide input into process improvement opportunities in managing materials. Effectively communicates issues and potentially with other departments (i.e. Procurement, Engineering, and quality).
+ Use judgment regarding location and storage, methods of movement, and release of material
+ Demonstrate the capability to support new product development and materials outside of Oracle.
+ Manage the inventory counts and assesses discrepancy reports provided by others in the materials group.
+ Manage all Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance reviews
+ Collect and input data which will be assessed for trends and implement any corrective actions
+ Execute material movements in support of business priorities or assigned activities
+ Help with tracking MRB material as needed and work with Quality to ensure locations/counts are correct.
+ Work with MRB coordinator to discard expired products, product samples and scrap material.
+ Collaborates with Procurement on Raw and WIP Inventory safety stocks, managing trends, replenishments or reductions.
+ Performs other duties as assigned
**DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
**Education & Experience:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Minimum of 5 years of managing inventory experience in an ERP or enterprise system
+ Knowledge of oracle is a plus
**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
+ Knowledge of production execution (Dock to stock and inspection plans) within an ERP environment (Knowledge of Oracle is a plus).
+ Proficient in MS Office (specifically excel in data entry and data manipulation to develop reports)
+ Ability to safely operate all required equipment. Must be able to obtain and maintain a current forklift license.
+ Possesses the ability to work well in a dynamic team environment and influence others
+ Solid written and verbal communication skills.
+ Able to work independently with little instruction on routine work and may receive general supervision.
+ Preferred working knowledge of Warehouse Management and Inventory Management aspects of ERP
+ Attention to detail
+ Lifting or moving of 5 - 25 lbs. continuously, 25 - 60 lbs. frequently.
+ Active Drivers license
**TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED**
Powered industrial transport equipment, such as forklifts, hand truck/jacks and turret trucks
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
+ Lifting of up to 40 lbs.
+ Standing for two hours or more; sitting for two hours or more
+ Ability to properly apply and remove sterile gowning
+ Ability to work with raw materials (porcine bladders)
