Responsibilities:
- Route, dispatch and monitor the movements of ocean containers using a team of company and independently contracted drivers.
- Create terminal appointments to pull and return equipment as efficiently as possible.
- Know and understand all customer's as well as their requirements & SOPs
- Monitor of the entire fleet while tracking route and driver efficiency.
- Resolve any operational issue delaying delivery (breakdowns, traffic conditions, etc.)
- Create shift recaps and shift change hand-off reports.
- Use VIntermodal TMS system to keep shipment statuses accurate and current. Port Pro experience desired but not required.
- Use Samsara GPS and Cab-Camera systems to track the real time movement of freight.
- Communicate with drivers using VOIP systems.
- Troubleshoot driver interface technology to ensure mobile dispatch software and E-log devices are fully operational.
- Answer phones quickly and keep call times to a minimum.
- Ensure adequate driver scheduling and contractor capacity to meet the day's workload.
- Update customer service team of service failures and exceptions in real time.
- Present detailed reports, dashboards and scorecards to assist management in improving operational efficiency.
- Verify that carriers being used are compliant and files are up to date.
- Know and understand FMCSA safety regulations and HOS limitations as well as internal safety policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with our driver communities.
- Model and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years motor carrier dispatch experience required.
- Drayage dispatch experience is highly preferred.
- Bilingual English & Spanish is highly preferred.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Some college courses highly preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office is required.
- Experience with any reputable TMS is highly preferred.

Under immediate direction, the Dispatcher provides timely response of customer inquiries up to and including pick-ups, schedules, product orders, etc., and all other aspects of a customer's needs. Dispatches vehicles on a pre-set route for each driver daily in the interest of efficient customer service.
**Key Job Activities:**
+ Assist Customer Service with customer requests (SFDC cases), route changes, rescheduling for pickups/missed stops
+ Provides highest level of customer service to all customers in line with Customer 1st objectives
+ Monitor, process, and escalate SFDC cases to supervisor
+ Assist walk-in customers
+ Assists drivers with problems/issues as issues arise (during the day or at the end of the route)
+ Reviews driver's paperwork and files paperwork
+ Review and updates routes, new customers based on daily communication, reroutes existing customers as required
+ Ensures that routes are balanced daily
+ Assists Trans Supervisor/Manager as needed/directed
+ Update SAP data / notes

**Education:**

**Experience (North America & LATAM):**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ 2+ Years' experience, preferably in Transportation, Logistics, Routing and Customer Service
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
