We are currently hiring for part-time positions to start training immediately. We are looking for people who are able to commit for at least one year. We have morning shifts open (9-12, and 11-2). Staff typically work between 10 and 36 hours per week depending on their requests. Schedules are consistent from week to week (no waiting to see if you get hours). We provide swim instruction to our community that builds confidence and develops safety skills in a child-centered environment. As a swim instructor you are responsible for the safety of each class and teaching swim skills to students using our curriculum. You will work to build water confidence within your students, encouraging each student to rise to the best of their abilities. You can expect to be regularly communicating with students and fellow staff members. You should be someone who welcomes feedback and is a continuous learner. As a swim instructor you will report to the Site Supervisor during shifts and provide support throughout the pool deck as needed.

The position includes 40 hours of specialist training in our highly developed British Swim School methodology.

• Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and standards
• Conduct classes in a fun and gentle environment, following current teaching methods, policies and safety and emergency procedures as detailed in the British Swim School teacher training manual and as directed by the Aquatics Director.
• Follows all British Swim School policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
• Work a flexible schedule that may include holidays and weekends as required by business needs and as requested by management.
• Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and stand in the water for up to 5 consecutive hours.

• Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with British Swim School standards
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics specific training and successfully complete the final in water and written exams
• Must complete CPR/AED & First Aid training within 90 days of employment
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check

We're hiring PART-TIME SWIM INSTRUCTORS!

Do you love being in the water? It's OK, if you're not a fantastic swimmer. But you do need to be AWESOME at passing on to kids the knowledge we give you. We're looking for energetic people that are open to learning and have the ability to make learning fun. If you have a strong passion for working with children, then we're the place for you!

We reward our instructors based on their performance. The more students you have on your schedule the more compensation you will earn. Keep in mind, your level of compensation will increase the more students you have on your schedule.

Here's how it works:

• Your Base Rate = $22.50
• Your Private Class Incentive (1 on 1 ratio) = $.34
• Your Semi-Private Class Incentive (2 on 1 ratio) = 1.67
• Max Rate (Base rate + up to 3 Private Class Incentives per hour) = 32.52

And wait, there's MORE!

We also offer a lesson bonus program. If you achieve a specified renewal percentage for the month, you have the opportunity to earn up to an additional 4.00 per hour worked. If you work 30 hours per week, that's an additional 120 per week on top of your current rate.

Job Description:

A Waterworks Aquatics Swim Instructor is primarily responsible for teaching Private and Semi-Private swimming lessons to children and adults. Our instructors are responsible for progressing their students at the quickest rate possible while ensuring that the students are having fun and enjoying themselves in their lessons.

We're seeking a Swim Instructor to join our team! As our new Swim Instructor you will:

• Teach various levels and age groups in accordance with the sites instructional guidelines

• Plan lessons, select appropriate drills, and evaluate the students progress

• Present proper demonstrations and explain skills, analyze and correct performance, minimize fear, and use appropriate teaching devices

• Maintain a safe and positive teaching environment

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire

• Current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire

• Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons highly preferred

Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $15.00/unit to $70.00/unit in addition to admin rates as required by local law. Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications, duration of class, and work experience as well as other business needs.
