As a member of our Infrastructure and Services Group, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:
- Designing systems ranging from basic to highly complex to meet client needs. This includes HVAC master planning and studies, HVAC and plumbing systems, mechanical systems such as co-generation, and centralized energy systems. The role also involves implementing energy efficiency improvements for large campus environments-including manufacturing facilities, hospitals, and water systems-focused on sustainability, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building initiatives.
- Performing other duties as required such as heating/cooling load calculations, duct/pipe sizing, equipment selections, system layouts, and coordination with other design disciplines.
- Developing detailed energy models and Life Cycle Cost Analysis for various building types.

As a Principal Thermal Engineer, you will focus on the alignment of OCI thermal hardware design and the data center physical infrastructure. A mix of technical breadth and depth is required to work cross-functionally with different disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal, and Software) to develop thermal solution optimized for the entire stack, and effectively manage high performance data center devices. You will work with internal and external partners, focusing on delivering the next generation of world class hardware and data centers.
· Build, conduct thermal simulations, and review thermal simulation models from partners to identify data center risks and improve efficiency.
· Design and conduct experiments for validating and producing accurate CFD and MBD models by comparing test results against platform telemetry and facility BMS data.

**Responsibilities**
· Collaborate with internal and external partners across the globe to develop platform hardware and data center infrastructure solutions enabling OCI services.
· Lead thermal design reviews and presentations of concepts to peers, partner teams, and executives.

+ 15 years working experience in relevant engineering areas with at least 10 years of experience on Thermal finite element analysis, modeling, and validation of electronic packages in the semiconductor industry.
