**Overview:**
The Web Developer will be responsible for design, development and maintenance of applications across various platforms. Developer's focus will be on building and managing websites and applications using WordPress, Angular, Node.js, GraphQL, PHP, and JavaScript. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is also essential. Candidates with experience in SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform, and Azure will be given strong consideration. This role reports to IT Director.
**Responsibilities/Essential Functions:**
+ Develop, maintain and optimize dynamic websites and web applications using WordPress, Angular, Node.js, GraphQL, PHP and JavaScript
+ Integrate Restful and GraphQL APIs into web applications.
+ Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions on time
+ Manage, troubleshoot and optimize performance for existing web applications.
+ Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design across devices
+ Supporting the goals of the company's technological alignment efforts
+ Seeking out and implementing continuous process improvement opportunities
+ Supporting internal communications related to business improvements and processes, system upgrades, and enhancements
+ Build and sustain working relationships with all AUS functional areas
+ Ensuring accurate and efficient governance policy development and adherence
+ Report on statuses when requested
+ Submit all time and expense reporting procedures accurately and timely

**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**

We are the Brands & Marketing Software Engineering Team within the Digital Products Engineering (DPE) organization at GM. Our team collaborates closely with marketing leaders from across GM to build easy to use tooling to create engaging and innovative experiences at scale while providing meaningful value to our customers through a seamless customer experience.

**The Role**
We are looking for an exceptional software engineer who is excited about building web products across General Motors. You will be responsible for helping lead our engineering efforts through planning, design and architecture, execution, and ramp. As a technical leader on the team, you will be able to help mentor less experienced engineers, build strong relationships with technical leaders on other teams, and facilitate a strong team culture.
**What You'll Do**
+ Develop competency across our complete web technologies stack (client, framework, and services)
+ Weigh architectural trade-offs and apply synchronous and asynchronous design patterns
+ Produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration
+ Be a tech lead and will actively mentor other engineers on the team
+ Explore and pitch product ideas and tech initiatives with cross functional teams
+ Initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross functional, and org-wide critical programs
+ Leverage your technical leadership to ensure we adhere to engineering best practices, and evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity and craftsmanship
**Additional Job Description**
**Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)?**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
+ 5+ years of experience in web application development with a focus on frontend technologies (HTML / CSS / JavaScript)
+ Expertise with JavaScript Web Components and Custom Elements
+ 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture, documentation and design of new and existing systems (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
+ Must able to do client-side performance analysis, write unit tests, and be knowledgeable about accessibility
+ Experience working with multi-tier production software systems utilizing HTTP APIs (REST, GraphQL) and Content Management Systems
+ Demonstrated ability to understand the tech stack, debug code and tests
+ Enthusiastic about the opportunity of impacting the engineering culture from the bottom up
**What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)?** ?
+ Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
+ 7+ years of experience in web frontend, application & services development
+ Expertise in JS ES2020+ and experience with JS frameworks like ReactJS
