· Programs, troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/ hardware and configuration problems.

· Utilizes predictive equipment and interprets results for analysis, equipment condition assessment, troubleshooting and proactive maintenance. Including but not limited to infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, power quality analysis, laser interferometry, ball bar, and vibration analysis.

· Leads, drives and participates in CI activities--processes, results and cost savings using CI tools and methodology.

· Identifies and sources parts, supplies and repair items as necessary. Suggests alternative items and engineered solutions to improve reliability.

· Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards.

· Complies with 5S and housekeeping standards.

· May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks.

· Studies and investigates technical and systems methods, tools, and innovations that can be implemented in ATS sites to improve maintenance practices and updates documentation.

· Prepares input for cost analysis for new equipment, repair/rebuild proposals, cost savings and innovations as required.

· Updates records and reviews CMMS history and analyzes data.

· Provides technical contents of sales quotations and performs T&M duties as required.

· Trains and coaches less proficient technician. Assumes project manager responsibilities as assigned.

· Completes and conducts on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.

· Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines.

Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.

+ Inspect and diagnose electrical problems in various systems and equipment.
+ Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including Motors, switchboards, controllers, and transformers

+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and NEC codes.

This person is responsible for performing general, preventive and reactive maintenance on the electrical systems in the plant. They will provide reactive maintenance to equipment breakdowns that happen, going through preventative maintenance on the machines in the plant, and being the respondent to all emergencies or incidents during their shift!
-Participate in plant safety process including safety meetings, safety subcommittee meetings and safety project teams.
-Reactive Maintenance - Troubleshooting, calibrating, and servicing electrical systems. Repair machine breakdowns.
-Preventative Maintenance - Maintain work order system by completing work orders, updating equipment files, updating part files, and updating PM files.
-Maintain documentation on various systems
-Maintain spare parts inventory and documentation.
-Assist in solving quality and production related problems.
-Assist contractors in installing new equipment or upgrading existing equipment
-Assist other engineering associates performing work as required to keep production machinery and auxiliary equipment in working order.
-Train other shop associates as needed.
-Participate in on or off-site training as required.
-Troubleshoot and repair breakers, overloads, proximity sensors, micro-switches, mechanical switches, D.C. and A.C. motors and drives.

Skills and Requirements
Hands on experience in troubleshooting electrical issues in industrial mechanical equipment.
Knowledge of general safety procedures including proper PPE and 70E.
Able to interact effectively with management, staff, vendors, customers, and work independently, and/or as part of a team.
Must have an Electrical background, including understanding of power distribution, relay logic, electrical print reading, AC/DC drive wiring and programming, AC/DC motors, control equipment (RTDs, flow meters, D/P cells, I/Ps, Load cells, valve positioners, compensators, potentiometers, relays, etc.) Be able to read electrical blueprints

Smurfit Westrocku2019s West Point Mill is looking to find committed, hardworking individuals to fill current openings as Electrical Maintenance Techs at our Papermill in West Point, VA. We offer a competitive wage ranging from $33.04 to $44.30 and a full benefits package.
We are looking for candidates with experience and a thorough knowledge of a diverse range of Electrical, Power Distribution, motor control, troubleshooting, and repair. Some of the equipment is as follows.
* Programmable logic controllers.
* Variable speed drives.
* Various industrial communication protocols.
* Motor control circuits.
* Electrical power distribution equipment such as feeder breakers, switches, transformers, and associated relays.
* AC induction motors, DC motors, AC synchronous motors and controls.
The responsibilities of the Electrical Journeyman will include but not limited to the following:
* Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation plant maintenance to include preventative maintenance tasks and troubleshooting plant equipment.
* The ability to read and understand electrical schematics, loop sheets, process and instrumentation diagrams, and equipment manuals.
* The ability to understand and troubleshoot various forms of control logic, such as ladder logic, and function block diagrams.
* The ability to use and understand various types of test equipment such as calibration equipment, digital multi-meters, megohmmeters, etc.
* Must possess a working knowledge of electrical safety precautions and procedures for example, LOTO, NFPA-70E.
* Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of all electrical and control equipment throughout the mill.
* Use of data historian software.
* The Ability to work rotating shifts (southern swing)
* Perform duties as part of the Incident Response Team and participate as a fire brigade member.
What you need to succeed:
* Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Honeywell and Valmet DCS, Allen Bradely Powerflex Drives, and/or GE DC Drives preferred.
* Pass written testing requirements.
* Available to work overtime as required.
* Must possess a strong desire and willingness to learn the equipment.
* Decision making and troubleshooting abilities
* Good communication and computer skills.
* Must be highly motivated, conscientious, and a good team player with a positive attitude.
* Must be able to work safely.
Minimum qualifications to be considered for the job:
* High School or GED plus Virginia Career Readiness Certificate
* 2 Year technical Degree or associateu2019s degree
* 5+ years industrial electrical experience

**Pay Range: $29.00 to $32.00/HR**
**1** **st** **Shift - 5:00am to 3:30pm**
**2nd Shift - 4:00pm to 2:30am**
**What's the Job?**
+ Industrial troubleshooting to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, appliances apparatus and fixtures
+ Installation and maintenance of building electrical
+ Installs power supply, wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as conveyors, programmable controllers, etc.
+ Diagnoses all malfunctioning equipment including electrical apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and corrects the issue, which can include replacing damaged or broken wires and cables
+ Installation of electrical and mechanical components and systems for presses, custom equipment, machinery and all related equipment
**What's Needed?**
+ Ability to follow MIOSHA and MPTSH safety regulations and policies, including wearing required P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment). Reports on unsafe conditions.
+ Participates in continuous improvement activities, proactively submits Cost saving improvements and suggestions. Uses the Employee suggestion program, Kaizen and A3 methods.
+ Mechanical troubleshooting skills including ability to diagnose malfunctioning systems, gearbox rebuild, pumps, and motors repairs. Knowledge of CNC's, Stamping Presses and related machinery.
+ Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet. Knowledge of building codes. Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC's, Servo systems, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic Systems, electrical controls, various types of HMI's and associated logic.
+ Competent with programming/commissioning of VFD's, Fanuc control and logic knowledge. Ability to work with 3-phase, 480 volts. General Fabrication skills preferred. Must have own tools or ability to obtain tools required.
