The Rad Tech (X-Ray) Technologist is a highly skilled professional who uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.

Qualifications

  1. Able to operate sophisticated computer equipment
  2. Certified by the state of South Carolina to work imaging

Skills Needed
  1. Highly self-motivated
  2. High School graduate or equivalent
  3. Current BLS
  4. Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved
  5. Have met requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Lifting Requirements: Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions.

**Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position**
The X-Ray Technician performs digital X-ray studies on patients per the orders placed by providers. The X-Ray Technician is a multi-skilled clinical professional who works within the scope of practice to assist in patient care under the direction of the provider.
**Essential Job Functions**
+ Safely performs provider ordered radiographic examinations, including but not limited to proper patient positioning, immobilization, and utilizing appropriate radiation protection.
+ Sets up and adjusts supportive and immobilization equipment and devices as required by individual cases. Positions and handles patients with a high degree of safety and professionalism
+ Accurately documents patient encounters within Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
+ Determines and selects proper electronic and technical factors which safeguard the patient, x-ray tube, and equipment
+ Maintains clinical and administrative skills to meet patient care and daily operational needs. Collect patient specimens and runs point of care lab tests. Travel to other facilities for BSMH providers or adjusting work hours to meet patient care needs as directed by the manager may also be required.
+ Directs and practices sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination of disease
+ Reports immediately any malfunction, necessary adjustments or repairs of equipment to supervisor
+ Other duties include but not limited to ordering supplies, lab and diagnostic tests, disposes of contaminated supplies, patient registration, scheduling, phone triage, cash handling, check-in/check-out and performing scribing duties as needed basis.

As a Certified Radiology/Mammography Technician with our organization, you will be responsible for assisting in the startup of our Mammography services and carrying out the day-to-day Radiology and Mammography activities of ReGenesis Health Care in accordance with federal and state standards, guidelines, and regulations.Excellent pay up to $38.50 an hour based upon experience with competitive full-time benefits. Quarterly bonus incentives are paid to all staff that meet defined eligibility criteria. Your eligibility in our comprehensive benefits program will begin the first day of the month following your official start date. Duties and Responsibilities:Process radiology images following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.Process screening mammograms following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety. Position radiology/mammogram equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to the specification of examination. Maintain a cooperative relationship with Breast Navigator to coordinate patient scheduling.Complete necessary certification requirements for Mammography Equipment. Assist with maintaining federal/state/local certifications and inspections necessary to operate the Radiology Department and Mammogram Unit.Assist with patient follow-ups for ALL mammogram results including notifying patients of normal results and processing patients' needs for recommended abnormal workup. Assist with PACS/eCW imaging result uploading efficiencies and/or troubleshooting.Assist with ordering, faxing, and/or scheduling abnormal mammogram follow-ups, including diagnostic ultrasounds or mammograms, as recommended.Must ensure that professional standards and high-quality patient care are always maintained.
