Kroger to expand in Central Ohio hundreds of new associate positions opening

Kroger plans to expand its delivery service by adding a new facility in Central Ohio that will employ up to 200 people.

The new "spoke" facility delivers modern e-commerce and innovation to the Central Ohio area, including Columbus.

It is intended to broaden the grocer's reach and capacity to supply customers with fresh and friendly services.

Gabriel Arreaga, Kroger's senior vice president and chief supply chain officer said: "We're proud to expand the Kroger fulfillment network in our home state. The new service is an innovative addition to the expanding digital shopping experience available to Kroger customers.”

“Our delivery business continues to accelerate with the growth of fulfillment and spoke facilities. This expansion will further our commitment to create career opportunities and serve shoppers fresh food fast through interconnected, automated, and last-mile solutions across America."

The 61,000-square-foot Lockbourne facility on Shook Rd will collaborate with the fulfillment center in Monroe, Ohio.

It will act as a last-mile cross-dock facility, extending the fulfillment network's reach to clients up to 200 miles from the hub.

Customers in more than 250 Central Ohio ZIP codes will be able to use Kroger Delivery when it is fully operational.

Arreaga continued: "When our customers think of food, they think of Kroger."
