Asda Brings in New Senior Leaders from M&S and Tesco to Drive 2025 Growth Ambitions

Asda has announced two new senior appointments as part of its strategic efforts to drive growth in 2025.

The supermarket is bringing on board experienced executives from Morrisons, Tesco, and M&S to bolster its leadership team.

Key Appointments to Strengthen Leadership

Lauren Lepley, a former vice president of central operations at Morrisons, will join Asda in early December.

Lepley’s career spans more than 14 years in the grocery industry. She has held pivotal positions at both Tesco and Morrisons. Her extensive background is expected to play a key role in Asda’s growth strategy.

Asda has also hired Mark Henry, a former senior executive at Marks & Spencer (M&S). Henry, who has over 25 years of operational experience, most recently served as group director of asset protection at M&S.

He is set to assume the role of vice president of retail south from January, overseeing store operations across Asda’s southern region.

Both new leaders will report to Matt Heslop, Asda’s newly appointed chief operations officer, who will also join the company in January 2024.

Asda’s Focus on Strategic Growth

The leadership changes are part of Asda’s broader strategy to enhance its business and achieve its growth ambitions for 2025.

As the UK grocery market remains highly competitive, Asda is seeking to leverage the experience and insights of its new leaders to strengthen its market position and operational capabilities.

With these new additions to the leadership team, Asda aims to focus on delivering excellent customer service, efficient store operations, and sustainable growth in the coming years.
