John Lewis has unveiled its eagerly anticipated Christmas 2023 commercial, which stars a huge Venus flytrap.

The advert has been made by John Lewis’ new partner, the world-famous Saatchi & Saatchi.

John Lewis’ Customer Director, Charlotte Lock, said: “We are a nation that cherishes Christmas customs – ranging from timeless activities like pantomimes and tree decorating to the more recent ones such as DIY gift-making and virtual gatherings.

“The unique festive traditions we each hold dear are what make them truly meaningful.

“The film highlights the beauty of family and the evolution of traditions, underscoring that a ‘perfect’ Christmas is about the joy found in being together with those we love, no matter the form our traditions take.”

The advert is set to premier during Gogglebox on Channel 4 on Friday.
