Asda workers at its Lowestoft store are preparing for a second strike amid ongoing disputes over working conditions and pay.
Over 170 employees in East Suffolk will strike from 3 a.m. to 10 p.m. on August 9, following claims that the store’s management has ignored their concerns.
The GMB Union, representing the workers, cites issues such as reduced working hours, inadequate training, bullying by management, and unresolved health and safety breaches.
Workers are also dissatisfied with handling equal pay issues and the lack of collective bargaining.
GMB regional organiser Keith Dixon said: “Asda Lowestoft bosses know full well why workers are frustrated.
“They’ve met with GMB several times, but they seem to be burying their heads in the sand.
“Not a single point of concern has been addressed by Asda during these meetings – suggestions from GMB have been blanked.

“Management seems to want to ignore these problems and hope they go away. They won’t. Now, Asda Lowestoft workers are walking out once again. “
Earlier this week, GMB announced a similar strike involving over 150 workers at Asda’s Wisbech store, also over unresolved issues.
Asda has yet to respond to requests for comment.
