Greggs is to establish a new frozen production and logistics facility in Derby which will create up to 600 jobs.

The 23-acre centre at SmartParc SEGRO Derby is expected to be fully operational by 2026.

The move aligns with the company’s aim to expand to over 3,000 stores nationwide.

The purpose-built facility will enhance manufacturing capacity for Greggs' products.

It will include new sweet and savoury production lines, and will also manage logistics for frozen storage.

Greggs has partnered with Swisslog, a logistics automation firm, to implement a fully automated robotic shop order-picking and distribution solution.
