WHSmith and Holland & Barrett want Body Shop staff

The Body Shop UK store

WHSmith and Holland & Barrett are offering jobs to staff affected by the layoffs at The Body Shop.

The Body Shop confirmed almost half of its 198 UK store closures and eliminated 40 percent of its head office positions.

The retailer will streamline its operations and shift focus towards online and wholesale channels.

This decision led to the immediate closure of seven stores, with additional closures expected shortly.

In a LinkedIn post, WHSmith said: “We are sad to hear that The Body Shop will be closing some of its UK stores and we’re keen to do what we can to support our fellow retail colleagues who are now facing an uncertain future.

“We have a range of roles available across our business in both travel and high street stores as well as our support centres and we want to hear from you.”

“We are inviting all colleagues who are at risk of redundancy to apply for our vacancies at Holland & Barrett across all business areas, including but not limited to retail, commerce functions, product and tech, and finance.”
