Google Invests $1 Billion in Thailand For New Data Center
Google has announced a $1 billion investment in Thailand, aiming to establish a data center and enhance the country's cloud infrastructure.
This strategic move positions Thailand as a pivotal location for Google’s expansion in Asia. The company has a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) amidst growing competition from companies like Microsoft and OpenAI.
The Investment
The investment is equivalent to 36 billion Thai baht. It marks the creation of Google’s first data center in Thailand, located in the Chonburi province, in the east of the country.
This facility is set to support the growing demand for Google Cloud, AI innovations, and popular Google services such as Google Search, Google Maps, and Google Workspace.

According to Jackie Wang, Google’s Thailand Country Lead, the investment aims to unlock new opportunities for businesses, educators, and the broader Thai population.
