Singapore-based Zhong Bu will establish its first manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, India, reportedly generating 200 job opportunities.
The new facility, situated within the Phoenix-Kothari footwear park at Perambalur, involves a substantial investment of ₹70 crore (approximately $8.4 million).
The company specialises in producing adhesives and related products for the footwear industry.

The groundbreaking ceremony for this pioneering factory within the non-leather footwear component cluster, housed in the footwear park, is scheduled for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet (TNGIM) on January 7.
J Rafiq Ahmed, the chairman of Phoenix Kothari Footwear Ltd., said: “Our aim is to get the factory on stream within six months from the date on which the foundation is laid.”
Zhong Bu operates manufacturing plants in China, Vietnam, and Indonesia, with research and development facilities and technical service capabilities.
The non-footwear component cluster would accommodate 30 factories, attracting numerous international players.

Phoenix Kothari Footwear Ltd. has partnered with 21 companies to establish facilities in the component cluster, with formalisations scheduled during the Global Investors Meet.
This initiative marks the establishment of a non-leather component cluster, a rarity globally, with only China having a similar setup.
Ahmed said the Perambalur component cluster is a significant national initiative in the post-Covid era, aligning with the China Plus One strategy adopted by global manufacturers.
He said: “Tamil Nadu will be the next Vietnam.”
